Xbox one (na) Strafing glitch - movement bug

Not sure what causes this but occasionally I get a glitch where vertical direction input from the left controller stick is null for character movement (can not move my character forward or backwards, or scroll up/down in menus), the same thing with dpad in the menus, up/down input does nothing. The only exception however is input from the left stick is fine when using the minimap.
It doesnt feel like its an input malfunction, as in it feels like the game is still recieving the vertical input coming from the left stick, but something is underlapped and the input is just not going to my character.
By that I mean it feels like a menu or some UI is open in the background but is not showing on screen, and all vertical input is going to whatever is bugged in the background and not my character or any menus after this bug occurs.
It is a very simple fix, I just have to log out and back in when this happens. I tested several things, such as going into combat and dying.(the way I moved to get into combat is strafe left/right and turn the camera with movement to get where I want) I did not try leaving combat now that I think about it. None of those did anything.
I also tried recalling to a shrine in the same and other zones, thinking maybe a loading screen could fix it. It did not, after loading both times I could still not move my character forward or backward. Only fixed after logging out and in to any character.
Only reason for this post (as opposed to in game support ticket) is obviously without being able to navigate menus I cant reach the help button to report this when it happens and I dont see a point in reporting a bug after temporarily fixing it.
