is it allowed? is it not allowed? i get mixed messages on here. are there actual rules against it? for the record i've never boosted before, just wondering.

for those that are super ultra nooby, boosting = letting someone else constantly kill you for points

Its allowed just pointless unless you have a whole guild of opponents as you only get like 60ap for killing someone twice

It's the defense tics at a resource they're looking for . They can kill them over and over and get more that way .

Yes unfortunately it is allowed .

Boosting in any normal competitive MMO is a ban-able offense.

I don't think ZOS has any official opinion on it, It's handled like the cheat engine was, as long most people don't know or care about it neither do they.

When the top player is never seen on the map and has many millions more then the people who play the game fair, we have a problem.

Pretty sure if reported with proof this isn't allowed. At least back in the day on PC I know people got in trouble for it.

The way it's normally done is find a resource out of the way, have a bunch of people wipe to the defender there then let them claim the def tick. By the time that tick is done the cooldown on lessened AP should have gone.

I just don't get why people do competitive gameplay at all, if they intend to cheat in the first place - this defies the whole purpose of a competition, if it is rigged from the very start. How can someone be proud of something like that at all?

The days of sportsmanship have long sailed my friend . There's not many left . Now a days people think cheaters and hackers are the heroes ... "He hacks so he must be cool like NEO in the matrix" , or "he's a rebel like Brad Pitt in fight club" It's all backwards now .

So I blame Hollywood and bad parenting . But mostly Keanu Reeves

There's not just boosting, there's even deliberate 'holding back' to prevent the 'wrong' guy getting emp.

I was no.1 on leaderboard for my faction, got there through pure fighting, very little wall repair etc, we had 5 of the keeps needed, had a big group capable of taking the last keep, but everyone decided to go elsewhere rather than push for it and risk someone from a small guild get it.

I didn't care about the title, I just wanted us to WIN for once...

Left a real sour taste in my mouth about the so called 'alliance war', it's more like a war for the biggest guilds to rotate turns in getting the title.

The only reason these guild will do that is they know they can boost past the people who play fair and hand it off.

If ZOS had even 1 admin ghosting around looking at top players it would make a difference. I have heard of people getting 2 mill AP ticks does ZOS save any data?

1 month bans with a warning of a 6 month or perm ban could stop all of this nonsense.

I could maybe understand it back when you still retained Emp bonuses for being a former Emp. It gave you some serious buffs even after you were dethroned, so people had a reason to want it so badly that they would cheat to get it. Since that's no longer a thing, it really makes no sense.

This is why I'll never get EMP :( I've tried about 5 times now and everytime I think I'm doing good, some f***er shoots up the board with sometime 4x the AP you have

Can you pull up where they say boosting is a valid form of getting EMP?

I'm pretty sure they are just ignoring it hoping it will go away...

Why do the players have to force ZOS to implement ways to weed out the cheaters???

There are many, many ways to get points, why would someone let someone else kill you so they can get the points? Isn't the whole concept of PvP is trying to kill players from the other pact and not get killed so much yourself?

One of the big draws is the title/ costume. RPers would salivate at the chance to get a costume and title so insanely exclusive.

There is no official post saying its "valid" that I can remember . There's also no thread saying its a punishable offence that can I can remember either . Instead of digging through the archives to find every complaint about this since launch , let's try again for an official response .

It is unequivocally the vilest form of cheating, particularly since the whole rest of the population of Cyrodiil is there to compete in the AvAvA game format.
