Freedom to Alt

Suggestion: If any one character on an account is earning CPs, permit any experience gained on any alt to contribute to earning CPs.

Discussion: I have one main at almost 300 Champion Points, but a number of alts below level 50. I would like to play some of those alts occasionally, but I feel forced to play my main as I don't earn CPs on any of my alts. The ability to mix it up on the alts keeps the game more interesting and enjoyable, but I often feel unable to play them because it means I'm not working towards that 501+ point goal.

Thoughts?

Don't even think about it. Your alts will earn you CP once they hit level 50 and that can be done pretty quickly. You will also catch up on CP very very quickly.

This is a VERY alt friendly game, especially after the last patch.

I can understand this feeling - I have 2 baby alts that I don't play very often for a variety of reasons, but one of them is I know I won't be earning any CP like I would be on my 4 vet characters. However, I do not agree that we should be able to earn CP on pre-lvl 50 characters; they are not champions yet. Just bite the bullet and put in the time. If it's an alt, and you're familiar with the game (and get XP potions), you can fly through the quests and hit 50 quite quickly.
NA PS4 Daggerfall Covenant Characters -- CP 755

Sulin Shadowdancer -- Redguard Nightblade -- Dragonstar Arena Champion, General Executioner, Tamriel Hero
Ysorya Traven - Breton Sorcerer -- Monster Hunter, Master Angler, Explorer, Maelstrom Arena Champion, Tamriel Hero
Eriah A'kiranya-- Redguard Dragon Knight, tank
Sybilline Travadon -- Altmer Templar -- Maelstrom Arena Champion
    At-Sixes-and-Sevens -- Argonian Templar, healer
    Mercurial Malice -- Dunmer Nightblade
Fern Gullie -- Bosmer Warden, level 45
    Ghareshi-ri - Khajiit, Necromancer, level 9

    Thank you for your comments.
so...you want to make the game even easier?

This isn't about making it easier, it's about being able to play the character I most feel like playing at the time without feeling like I should be playing the other.

    (And also, @Cynnalia)

True, many people can just rush through 1-50. I don't tend to play that way as I prefer to run the story. If I rush through it I feel as though I've missed something. I turn over every leaf, find every shard and lorebook that I can. Yes, even on alts.

Still, @Cynnalia, I can agree with your comment "...they are not champions yet. Just bite the bullet and put in the time." Unfortunately, 'putting in the time' will be a long road for me due to the above and not having the actual time to sit playing for hours on end.

It was just a thought I had while logged in on an alt. I suppose I'll just play the main until I hit 501 and can feel the freedom to play otherwise.

Leveling an alt to 50, even as a completionist, is EASY. There is no need to change the system to be even simpler and easier then it already is. A modicum of effort is not too much to expect.

@Caeric my suggestion is play your main only while you have enlightenment grab those easier CP's.........

Then enjoy some downtime with your alts. :)

Now really, when did I say it was HARD? There is a difference between time and difficulty. I don't use XP boosts because I am typically already over leveled for any zone I'm in due to taking the time to explore everything and do every quest. I've never found the actual playing hard, just time consuming in the way I prefer to play.

Again, this was about feeling the freedom to play something other than my main when I felt the desire, not about how easy or difficult the game is.

Play your alts. You accumulate enlightenment while playing the alts which will quadruple your CP gain rate and you can store up to 12 days of it. You more than make up for the time "lost"

Enjoy the game and don't feel forced to earn CP. Believe me, once you're at 501, the feel of progression gets lost. Not somethig you want to get to.

I felt this way prior to Vet Ranks being removed. Now I'm more compelled to play alts since they have levels.

You could play once a week for an hour and grind out enlightenment. After that it's pointless to keep grinding CP.

You might as well get your alts up to speed!

No thanks, I'd far rather CPs were character-specific rather than account-wide in the first place.

Playing the lowers sets up enlightenment for the biggie. So in essense you ARe earning Cp, just held back until you nburn the enlighten with your biggie.
