Alt+F4 not working

I sometimes quit my game with Alt+F4 but I noticed that the game only closes visually, if you close the game this way, is disappears, the process will stay open and suddenly decrease your system performance to a level, much worse than if the game is actually running.
Did anybody else notice something like that?

I don't even use the launcher, I directly start the game via eso64.exe. It visually vanishes when I close it but it's still running in the background. Means there is no window to be found in the taskbar, you can only see the process in the taskmanager and it starts using 4 times more hardware all of the sudden. It's not a big deal, I just think it's really odd. This didn't happen before the DB DLC0 -

Maybe that's the problem? Perhaps one of the launcher's tasks is to ensure the process is ended when the client is closed.
i dont use launcher either but that's more because it's had a habit of crashing and taking the game with it in the past0 -

✭✭✭✭✭I actually noticed this for the first time last night.
If you ALT+F4 the game you can still hear the sound playing and see it in your process window for a little while afterwards, for me the time was about 10 seconds.
Also as for why ALT+F4, it's faster than ESC > Quit > Yes > Wait...@Turelus - EU PC Megaserver

Sure, but if you force-quit with Alt+F4, you may stay logged into the server for up to 15 minutes after quitting. It's not as it should, you are not supposed to end the game this way. For the love of Y'ffre I see you coming:
"Oh noes another bug ! I can't exit the game properly through ALT +F4 ! Curse you ZOS with bad programming !"

Well, it worked perfeclty fine before, means that they somehow implemented a bug, which prevents that.
Also, if the game crashes it sometimes stays active in the background, thats shouldn't be the case
It's not like this is a big deal, just wanna show that there is something not working as before. If I program stuff I'm glad when ppl tell me what unintentionally changed if I didn't notice0 -

Even if people do crazy stuffs with your programs and then yell at you when their crazy stuffs aren't working anymore ?
Also if you really do programs you don't have time to waste implementing ALT + F4 style exit when you already programmed a proper way to exit your program.0 -

Tekyn✭✭✭Just a guess... but if the game closes suddenly via a method other than a normal shutdown, it's probably going into overdrive to gather crash-related info.
Also, I can't imagine a setting where you'd have to shut down so suddenly and yet need your computer to be immediately available... (obvious jokes aside)-- Khajiit like to sneak --0 -

You're right, it's not about the time, it's more a habit for me. I close all my games via alt+F4 since some (like CoD) require Exit->yes->and then you get dropped into the main menue instead of actually closing the game, thats quite annoying so I use the instakill method^^
About the crash data, the game stays open sometimes after I sent a crash report, I think it shouldn't gather more crash data if the crash report has already been sent0
