Accused of Hacking

Hello everyone I was recently playing in cyrodil and experienced a bug where my character flew a huge distance across the map in like a second and i couldnt even do anything. A player saw it happen and thought i was cheating. Is there anything i should do to prove i wasnt hacking? He said he was reporting me and sending a video of it to zos. I dont want to be banned for a stupid cyrodil bug that i had no control over. I have seen this happen to other people streaming like zergbad recently.

Devs will likely close this thread as it discusses punitive actions, even if only in vague terms, and that is against forum rules.

But since in b4 it gets locked...

If you are reported, and you were not cheating, don;t worry about it. The devs have the ability to go into your player profile and see detailed data about your toons, your play history, your keystrokes, whether or not you used, or attempted to use, third party software to modify your account as a genuine hack, or even if you were simply taking advantage of an exploit. It will be quite obvious to them if you did indeed cheat in some form or fashion. And if the player threatening to report you saved a video clip of your concerning behavior and sent it to the devs, it would likely be rather apparent if you were experiencing a glitch, or using a cheat. Even with the video, the devs will still go into your account to check logs to confirm or refute the use of a cheat or exploit.

You have nothing to worry about if you did not cheat or use an exploit. If however you were cheating or using an exploit, good riddance.

Either way, posting here isn't the best way to address this concern. Simply, send in a support ticket with your concerns. And while you are at it, in that support ticket, let the devs know about the bug you are experiencing so that it can get addressed and fixed.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. One person reporting you isn't going to get you banned. Zenimax should also be researching people that are being reported to see if they are using the third party addon that was letting people do those kinds of things.

I'm pretty sure that ZOS evaluates bans per case. Not with some auto ban robot. So let them report you and leave it to ZOS to evaluate your intents. In this regard you have little to worry about if you are truly simply experiencing a bug. Also reporting the bug yourself would help. Finally, if you know someone else who's been banned don't just assume they're innocent because they said so, even your favorite streamer.

This bug is in the game for a very long time now, a lot of players were sent flying. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

this was happening to my buddy last night too. happened about four times over the course of three hours. i'll probably post a vid tonight lol
