If you haven't played it, don't keep reading but I'll be vague just in case people didn't read the warnings.
When you get to a certain room with a certain person, does that other certain person always appear with the same consequences... whether you chose the optional step at the Sanctuary or not?
I have been mostly doing contracts and farming motifs for myself and to help friends, but am working on the main quest-line now.
I chose to NOT do the OPTIONAL step at all while still at the Sanctuary and getting info on where to go from the NPC for that quest. Hopefully it's not too vague... if someone decided to go with the optional step and choose to lie or tell the truth, etc... with the same results as I posted above, please post. If so, I'll have to either drop and re-do it or do it on one of my several alts that are max level.

Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.1 -

makreth✭✭✭✭✭Well haven't you heard....your choice matters, but in the end noone escapes from destiny! In other words, whatever you do the outcome will be the same. Your choice matters in a way that one or two dialogues change through the course
