Unable to finish quest

To Moonmont

You're supposed to talk to one of the sisters to complete the quest, and talk to the other to start the next quest. I talked to the other sister first, and they BOTH immediately ran off into Moonmont leaving this poor, lonely quest arrow with nobody to point to. :(

You should be able to cancel and restart there. Kauzanabi-jo gives the quest in Rawl'kha, but the 'Talk to somebody at Moonmont' prompt also exists independently of the quest line.

It's not like going to Dune and being told you need to go back to Moonmont and then being told at Moonmont that you need to go to back to Rawl'kha and then being told at Rawl'kha that you need to go back to Grim Watch.

Something really wants you to have to do nearly all of Reaper's March and its obnoxious geography.

I've already finished the entire questline and saved the March. Not sure what would happen if I canceled the quest...

Funny, I sent in a bug report tonight for the quest in Grahtwood "Keeper of Bones" because when it came time to activate Nirenan's Horn, it would not work. Tried everything, logged off, canceled/reacquired quest, etc... but nothing worked. Just kept getting the notification to push "E" to activate but it would never activate... if I pushed the button repeatedly I'd get the "Item not ready yet." Had to walk away from the quest because I couldn't finish it... yet, I saw other players coming through and activating the horn just fine. However, I am CP439 and going back to finish old quests... makes me wonder if this 'bug' has to do with VR removal and for whatever reason isn't recognizing the new 'level'?

That part of that quest has always been a bit tricky because you get the "Item Not Ready Yet" message unless you're standing in the exact right spot, which is as annoying as anything. It's worth trying standing right by the door, but facing away from it so that you get the horn as the activate cue rather than the door activate. I've done that quest multiple times on different characters, and without fail I spend a few minutes shuffling about to find the right spot to stand in to activate the horn.

See I have never, ever had that problem and I have done this quest multiple times myself. Tonight I tried every position I could find around that door AND... nothing. ZOS certainly needs to fix this quest, you should have to jump through hoops to find a certain 'spot' to activate a quest item.

Has anyone else experienced this with this quest?

I have a similar issue but with two other quests in Alik'r right now - pressing E in the correct spot doesn't do anything, and spamming the E key results in an Item not Ready error message.

Relogging, reloading UI, swapping weapons, disabling add-ons - tried up pretty much everything I could think of, with no luck.

I just saw another player come right next to me, and successfully use his item, so something specific must be triggering the bug.

Fixed a number of issues related to interactions and the use of quest items that were blocking quests from non-DLC zones.

Will this fix my issue, or is it only related to quest updates that use inventory items and interactable items?

^This, after I posted my earlier post in this thread I found on several quests that Press E was not working for a number of quests where the activator is actually a quest item in your inventory. For the ones I attempted, I was able to get through them by using the quest item in my inventory UI. I can't recall now which quests they were, but on various characters I have been doing quests in Bangkorai, and the AD and DC starter islands - I did /bug them in game though.

I reported a few quests in Shadowfen where couldn't talk to a NPC or interact with an item, supposedly they are going to be fixed in the patch today. Will see after the server comes back up.

@cyclonus11 Did you say you have already completed "Motes in the Moonlight"? If so, "To Moonmont" is no longer available, as it's a pointer quest, and can't point to something you've already done. I guess it was an oversight by ZOS that you were able to start Motes in the Moonlight before turning in this one, as usually, that would both be done with the same NPC. For the sake of 67 Gold and 323 XP, you may as well just abandon it.

Yesterday's patch didn't solve my issue, but thanks for the hint about using the item from my inventory - I was able to resume playing (I was stuck on two quests due to that bug).

I ran into the same issue with "The Initiation" in Alik'r a couple days ago but the solution was pretty simple. Just open your inventory, find the potion there, right click on it and "use." Just make sure you're standing in the back part of the tent. You're right. Pressing "E" does nothing. But in 2-3 spots, including this one, when nothing happened, I just had to find the item and manually activate it. Hope this helps!
