Very slow download speed.

I decided to jump back into ESOTU after learning that the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild are now out. So I dropped $15 for a new sub, and downloaded the launcher. Now I'm downloading the client and cannot seem to download any faster than 5.5MB/s. I typically average 40MB/s down.

I searched the net a bit, but wasn't able to find a reliable source of information regarding this. Just a lot of speculation and conjecture about ISPs throttling download speeds and other such BS.

I tried port forwarding the ports that the launcher had open, with no change. I tried closing and re-launching the launcher, with no change.

Does Zenimax and/or it's digital distribution partner cap the download speeds?

Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone may be able to offer.

do you have an exception in your firewall for the game?
it wil be slow at first,then it goes much faster

I do not utilize the Windows Firewall, or other third-party software firewall.

for me its slow at first then it jumps in speed around 19-21%

Following up,did you get in?

I did! The speed stayed consistent, so it took a bit longer than I had hoped, but I was able to get a couple of hours of game time in before work. Thanks again!
