Vampire Question

When a player becomes a new vampire ... will they still evolve to the next stages 2 - 4, regardless of not having yet invested a point in one of the vampire powers/passives that are accessible at those levels? In other words, is it possible for a player to be a stage 4 vampire without any passives or active abilities?

Also, does a stage 1 vampire look human, or has, ZoS, re-skinned the stage 1 vampire's appearance?

Yep, that's possible! You begin to advance as soon as you've become truly afflicted with the disease by completing the associated quest.

I never did spend much time at stage 1 (may do for some fire dungeons now) but IIRC your appearance is hardly altered from 'human' (/mer), if at all.

Damn ... I was hoping they would re-skin us to appear more human as a sort of glamour disguise. So I guess it's pointless to become a vampire unless you intend to get at least one of the abilities. Oh well, thanks for the quick reply.

Not sure if I'm missing your point of phrasing mine poorly - when you're in stage 1 you look very similar to a non-vampire.

Oh, my bad. You're saying you do look more "normal". Gotcha! I misread.

You still look pretty different but closer to normal.
