How to transfer non-steam game files to steam user

Hi there.
I own a non-steam version of ESO, and my girlfriend is buying the game on Steam to play with me.
Being a South African resident, with more limited internet than other places, I would prefer to copy my files to her than her having to download the entire game.

Is it possible for me to copy my non-steam game files to her, such that her Steam can verify the files as a Steam game?
And how would I go about this process?

Hi, I am a south african too...
I have done this with a friend, with other games. If it isn't bought on steam, it will never be a steam game and thus never be recognized by steam. You can however buy the game on steam and get the game codes, activate the game on the ESO site and then simply play the non steam version of yours with her logins from ESO. I do not have steam ESO but I believe that you do not have to log into steam to play it, so long as you have the ESO logins, because ESO runs like Planetside 2 or War Thunder or Warframe I.e. via a client. There is a slim chance that it won't work though, just saying. But then when you do have the internet, then download the steam version. Also check G2A, it might be cheaper there.

    Hope this helps

@M0bi haha yeah that's exactly what I did, works just fine. Though it's unfortunate, don't get to track Steam achievements etc this way.

The Steam version's art/data files should match those of the non-steam version since Steam isn't responsible for updating the game (and don't ever verify or backup via Steam. I decided not to buy via Steam but rather directly because online games don't update like offline games and who wants a bunch of dead sunset games in your steam library anyway.

I'm South African too @M0bi and I totally agree with your hashtags brother!
