Dodge rolling DoT effects AFTER the DoT was applied?

I was in a PVP combat today using the new DK poison abilities and in my combat log I noticed one of my opponents dodged my Noxious Breath (taking no damage) about 5 times in the ten second course of it's effect. I certainly was not spamming the ability over and over and they took damage occasionally. So, are people supposed to be able to keep dodge rolling and avoid the DoT damage of such abilities? I certainly hope not as that makes DoTs useless.
Anyone else seen this? Is this new? I've not used much in the way of DoTs before other than Bleed off of Two Handed so it's new to me.
