Healthbar scaling?!

Docmandu

These new health bars look baaaad... it's almost impossible to see what is going on in PvP now with these new health bars... The symbols / bar is bigger than the players!!

Any way to turn off the scaling or at least make them less intrusive?!

When there's 4-5 people on my screen, it's all covered in health bars.. looks very ugly.

    +1

from min-max effectiveness, seeing which enemy has little health, to target upon.....
also being able to see stealthed enemies, not on this picture, but it is the case, this is certainly helpfull for combat

But from immersion... I think it is bad !
    The Alliance icon is fine

please give us a toggle to choose what we want

"I still do not understand why I followed the advice of Captain Rana to bring the villagers of Bleakrock into safety. We should have fought for our village and not have backed down, with our tail between our legs. Now my home village is in shambles, the houses burning, the invaders feasting.I swear every day to Shor that after Molag Bal has been defeated, I will hunt down the invaders and restore peace in Bleakrock and drink my mead with my friends at the market place".PC-EU

Yeah seems that in the distance they don't scale down enough.. while up close they scale up way too much.

Had to disable them for PvP.. all I saw was blown up alliance icons and bars :(

Alliance indicators are far too big (sometimes as high as half character!), too color saturated, too statics...
Health bars are just impossible to play with, both practically and aesthetically.

Happy enough for we already have an addon able to remove those awful @names, and, of course, I never going to activate those vomitive nameplates.

And someone can tell me what's the point of those ridiculous big white heads next to the name in group UI?

All those useless UI changes make me wonder if is that the same beautiful immersive game I played on a daily basis and uninterruptedly paid for for more than two years.

For the very first time, this night, I played without pleasure, because I feel so disappointed for all those alterations...

there is no option to scale.

Plenty of addons have options to change features why not the main UI, its so basic

This change seems something that would be beneficial for Console players, not PC. Console players might have the need to have the icons and UI enlarged (which it already is) due to sitting a distance away from the screen, but this just seems way over the top if you sit in front of a screen. Why? Why change something that's not broken? Who the heck even complained about this, because I certainly didn't see or hear anything. And if it's optional, why make it default upon first login?

Besides, there doesn't seem to be an option to scale it down, just options when it is displayed... Grrrr, this is one change I'm not happy about whatsoever.

Really? This is the first night you played without pleasure? So the omnipresent goldseller spam and botters camping bosses didn't bother you at launch? Then the constant crashing due to memory leaks in 1.1.2 didn't decrease your pleasure at all? How about the rampant hacking this past weekend? Flying players casting meteor every second didn't bother you?

I mean I hate the new healthbars, but they cannot possibly compare to the aforementioned instances.

I do console, on a 36 inch 1080p that sits on the desk (dual used as a laptop output), and so far I think I will like the health bar sizes. Sometimes it is difficult to pick out an ally in danger of dying due to a thin mostly black health bar that is moving around amid blasts of AoE and flying bolts of all sorts of colors. Eruptions of wards and shields and proccing effects and flames being thrown every which way by and at adds, and someone says "crap, it stunned me, I'm outta stamina, medic medic!"... And it would usually take a half second to orient on the vulnerable person but it takes another half second to pick their health bar out of the visual cacophony, resulting in a resurrection rather than a simple gap closer that interrupts and stuns and pulls your buddy's arse out of the wood chipper.

Those alliance indicators are WAY too big - after a first PvP large scale fight with this change, I find this very annoying. I can't see my targets, all I see is a bunch of large yellow indicators filling up most of my screen. Please resize them back to their original size, or provide us a way to scale them. Otherwise I agree with others here - it makes large scale PvP far from enjoyable.

The healthbars are also too big - the size they were before was perfect, I see no reason to have changed them.

At launch I was questing my peaceful way, not farming bosses; few goldsellers were ignored. I've been lucky enough to not experiment constant crashing for memory leaks; hacking in EU exists but it's not a big thing as NA: cheaters are well known, we avoid them most of time.

So yes, it was the first night I was not able to enjoy my game.

Hopefully, addon's dev are going to fix those awful useless new features.

For the love of God, yes, please give us the choice to use the old health bars instead of these atrocious new one.

Why did you have to change this ZOS? I don't think I ever heard a complaint about the old health bars.

The new ones are awful, I had to turn them off completely - which is a nuisance or a handicap depending on the situation. They are way too large and do not scale down/up correctly when the distance increases/reduces. I reported this on PTS (with many others) and nothing was done about it.

Hopefully an addon will rectify this.

Okay, OP has a point about choice, and I think that'd be nice, but honestly I'm laughing my ass off as his complaining about a couple health bars when his screen is like 20-30% COVERED by a truck load of add-ons tracking buffs, debuffs, timers, AP gains, location, damage taken and dealt, a massive combat log window even inventory and gold! ...C'mon man. Seriously.

I suspect something is generally broken regarding scaling. I also noticed that the names in my raid window are written in fonts so large, that there's only room for the first 5 letters per name for each members in my raid.

I am with you guys here.

new massive Healthbars look horrible. For f**ks sake ZOS. Can you please f**king up ESO.
GIve people choices to scale down at least or to have the "classic bars".

I sweat there has been countless times I feel like flying to America, going to ZOS HQ and throwing a brick in their window.

I know they try to come up with new ideas for ESO but many times they just screw it up.

I also don't understand what yellow and lighter red on the enemy's bar was for - right after you damage them, a chunk of health bar turns yellow and disappears, all within a second or so. I though it was healing/health regen at first, but i don't think that's the case. Reminds me of Soul Calibur quite a lot lol. Totally unnecessary, and very distracting - i can't help but stare at it instead of paying attention to my buffs.

V'oghatta - Stamplar pretending to be a tank
Ulville Thonvella - aspiring Fire Mage, be careful around her fire sticks!
Dromedaris - lost and not found. Named after a shoe, what else can you expect from her? A proper tank in her wildest dreams
Swims-Naked - too pretty to grind, too silly to quest.

I agree, this needs to be addressed. I haven't set foot on Cyrodiil in two weeks now, after doing so almost on a daily basis for the past two years. That last attempt at large scale PvP totally turned me off, it was nothing more than a "aim blindly at the stack of large alliance logos, and hope you hit some random guy". It's seriously BAD. And I can't see one single reason for this change to be justified, so they can't give us the routine "it's for better balancing" runaround.

So yes, please do make sure you send them feedback in-game. It needs to be addressed, and before the next frigging DLC.
