New to templars

Templars is the class i did not run yet. How it compares with magblade for solo survival, for damage burst, dps etc? I play mostly pve.

I remember levelling/Grinding through the levels, line up hoardes of enemies and just jab them to death...
DPS is good with the right build and they are quite easy to play, no funny rotations to get the dps.
Burst is not good however, they do steady dps and can maintain that.PC EU Megaserver

✭✭Im leveling an Altmer magicka Templar and its already pretty tanky in 5LA/1MA/1HA with DW/destro setup.
Yesterday I was level 19 and solo-ed the Pelda Tarn (level 28 Storm Atronach) world boss in Greenshade with blue level 12 gear. When I hit level 20 I made new gear so now it will be even easier to solo Dolmens and world bosses 10+ levels above me.
When the DB patch goes live I think Templars will be one of the best solo classes with the right gear/skill setup. The Cyrodiils Light set has been updated to CP160 and the 5pc bonus gives 25% dmg reduction while casting or channeling spells.
Puncturing Sweeps is a channeled attack which heals based on the dmg done, this will be very strong in combination with Cyrodiils Light. Radiant Destruction is also a channeled attack which means you'll also get 25% dmg reduction while executing.
Ive seen videos of magicka Templars completing vCOA at V16 solo so its definitely a good solo class.

Kattemynte✭✭✭I love my Magplar and I actually made 2 because they are so versatile; one tank and one healer/dps.
For solo PvE play I think there is no better class to play, though at times it seems too good. Puncturing Sweeps heals you for 35% of damage done, so round up all the mobs you can and just jab to infinity while maintaining full health. You have ranged magicka skills like Vampire's Bane (DoT and gives spell crit) and Dark Flare (grants empower as well) and an excellent execute as well in Radiant Destruction (either heals you for % done or can do extra damage depending on amount of remaining magicka).
On top of that you have a healing skill line that no other class has. You have the "oh crap" skill in Honor the Dead (solo) or Breath of Life (group), an AoE HoT that with DB you can choose to morph into doing damage AS WELL! Restoring Focus morphed into Repentance for a free stamina and heal from dead bodies and you get Rune Focus that gives physical and spell resistance and can be morphed into a great skill that returns magicka back every 2 seconds (or whatever rate it is).
