So I had never fished before thinking it was boring but I decided I wanted to make some money so I would try farming perfect roe in wrothgar and in two 1 hour sittings I got 3 perfect roe and wrothgar master angler and tons of trophies to sell! I'm "hooked!" So now I'm setting off for the master angler title with my wife, wish us luck!

Just a tipp, the more people fish at one spot, the higher the chance of blue fish is.

Also 2 hours for one zone only? Man you must be lucky *cries in a corner about own attempts at fishing*

I'm 10 fish away and have reached the point where it's agonizing....Shadowfen has been extremely difficult. I've gone through 4 - 5 stacks of insects with no river blue. Having said that, it's one of my favorite parts of the game. I am in awe whenever I see the "Master Angler" title. Good luck!

i have the utmost respect for anyone with the master angler title. i have tried and tried and i simply cannot fish for more than 10 minutes before i start falling asleep.

As a master Angler let me tell you, it has its high and low moments. I did a majority of my fishing while waiting for a group in the finder.

But nothing feels better than random players giving you the "we're not worthy" emote.

The MA achievement took me a while to finish.

My advice would be:
1. Be patient and mix fishing in between other activities (in game /IRL).

My wife and i have Master Anglers we got together. She has 2 toons with it and i am working on my second.
There are awesome add- ons out there to help if you are on PC like Rare fish tracker and fish filet.
Also a tip that helped us through it all... Xbox controller mode.... it rumbles when its time to reel in so you dont always have to stay super focused on the line.

I kept track of my catches while doing the MA title to determine drop rates for roe. I caught 7,412 fish and narrowed down the roe drops at 1/100. Sometimes you will get runs of luck, sometimes dry spells...RNG is a beeyotch.

At any rate, I use the roe money to buy the psijic recipe, then made psijics with the rest. Made over 700,000 gold.

So I just started fishing on x1 na. Is it better to sell the unfilleted fish or should I fillet them for roe? Or is there much of a difference?

I sell the roe for 11k a piece but I've never sold in filleted fish so I don't know the pricing

Pro tip if you find fishing boring but still want the title: put on some headphones, grab a book/tablet/phone and have at it! Fishing requires minimal concentration so you can be reading/browsing the web/doing whatever, and only have to listen to the distinctive bite sound to press "E". You can do it without even looking at the screen.

Good luck getting close to the title myself.

But be ready luck does play a big role in it, wrothgar took me 4 days as several hours a day to finish so not all zones will go as fast as wrothgar did for you.

Working on my 3rd MA title as well...I love fishing but I also wish they would expand the skill a bit-have some fun with a passive line or at least allow you to "stuff" your fish for mounting...when player housing comes out LOL!

I'm in a guild that has a fishing event every Friday night. The leader of that event created a guide that will help quite a bit if you are just getting started with fishing. The addons he suggests come in real handy. I got the achievement on my first character without using addons. Was much easier with the 2nd character especially when it came down to catching those last few fish and needing only specific types of water.

1 master angler is enough for me, I suggest you need counselling you crazy people.

Print out the fishing zones with fish list, tick them off as you go through each zone.

Fish one zone at a time until you get to 1or 2 last fish but don't get hung up on using hundreds of casts to get the elusive fish.

Move on to the next zone and each day pop into the zone where you have the tough to get catch.

The amount of times I tried for hours straight in that zone, trying to catch that fish.
I come back the next day and after a shorter time catch the fish needed.

My best result ever was a coastal fishing trip and caught all 4 ocean fish in one spot.

Are you still after the wrothgar hardest catch, it's not that hard. Just the right spot and conditions.
I have helped friends catch it first cast.

My first master angler 11-14-2014.. green fish were worth nothing and no one would know what perfect roe is for months. I was known as the worm lady by many during this time.

Happen to be fishing right now with up and coming 3rd master angler.
