Well, yes and no - if you have already a good amount of collection items on your account, you rather want additional character slots than a new account, which comes with nothing - so in the end it is better to have additional character slots and the price ZOS made for them is reasonable this time - btw thank you for that, ZOS, I appreciate that you were reasonable with it.

Today (June 2nd) the price of ESO (and digital imperial edition) on ZOS own store was halved. Now £25 and £35 respectively.
(I've got into the habit of checking in case there is a sale on crowns)

Humble Bundle also has PC/Mac standard edition for US$29 and Imperial edition for US$39 right now (June 2). Authorized retailer (last I checked) so more reliable than some cheaper stores. This sale runs until 6pm EDT today.

This is the same price as the ESO Store, and I have no idea how long that sale will run.

I'm watching for the crown pack sale too...but I'm not in a hurry, because it'll be a while b4 I'm ready for any DLC content...the extra char slots would be nice now tho'...

I found a great buy when I got the game - Imperial Ed. on the Green Gaming site, which is on the official vendor list, $20, and non-Imperial was $15...it was this huge spring cleaning sale they had a couple months ago for just about all of Bethesda's catalog...so that would've been 75% off...

But then you hafta have Steam. It's just another layer between you and your game. Another password to remember, another account that can be hacked, another bunch of bugs, another program that can break down and keep you from getting to your game. Online community? ESO already has these forums. Auto backups of games? I can do that to my 2TB drive. They have absolutely nothing I want. Never again.

I have been thinking about buying the game again just to get OFF of steam.

you just need steam to buy the game and grab the cd key
and then you can delete steam at all
