Bethesda E3 - last hope for PvP'ers? - Arenas, Battlegrounds

Hey guys,

how would u feel if they still wont mention on the E3 (12. June) anything about arenas / battleground IF they will talk about their plans about the upcoming one/two DLC's this year?

I mean, I would be absolutely disappointed.. I know, December 2015 ESO life when they did talk about arenas / battlegrounds, my guildmate's told me "I want them now... I wouldnt wait another year" and I told them " Hey guys, I'm sure next time around this time (december 2016) we will have great (lagfree) PvP in Arenas / Battlegrounds, believe me guys and keep calm, Zenimax will do it".

Well, If they wont talk about this now I think I was wrong and that would really really disappoint me a lot and I'm not sure I will keep playing, been here now since Console start and ahvent touched another game (well, played Witcher 3 in 2 Weeks ), but this would be just... I dont know, I hope u get what I mean, I really need them to mention arenas / battlegroundes to keep my hope, even if they say " Yes guys, I promise u they will come Q1 DLC 2017" even that would be fine, I just need them to talk about it lol^^

What u guys feel about it? I really like cyrodiil when its lagfree, but thats the point, I like the combat in general and I would greatly enjoy 10 vs 10 Capture the Flag (Warsong like) PvP or 1v1 / 3v3 Arenas. I dont care that much about Balancing and I think the game is pretty much "ok" balanced, not for every playstyle etc, but I know players of every class which rock in pvp.

There is 0 hope for PVP if they dont

1. Ban exploiters and Cheaters.
2. Fix performance,
3. Fix the bugs.

As it stands having seen what's happening in Trueflame today this game is dead D E A D if they don't handle this fast and efficiently.

Depends at this point I'm only logging in for the social aspect and out of habit, if they fix pvp (I'm not holding my breath on that) perfomance and bugs then probably.

When you have endured this pvp mess for over 18 months you won´t have any hope left aswell.
It has only progressively gotten worse since release without any sign of things actually taking a turn for the better.

But this is just like telling children what´s good for them. Nobody believes without their own experiences so you have my condolences in advance because your hopes are going to dwindle slowly and some day you´ll find yourself looking at the game asking why you´ve wasted that much time on this mess when everyone told you not to.

Well, thats why I have written that I'm note sure to keep playing if they wont talk about arenas / battlegrounds in their next advertisement of their new DLC. If they dont talk about arenas / battlegrounds in a single word I'm with u and dont think they will ever add something like that ..

They really need to talk about that

It´s his job to understand the game to be able to make meaningful class/gear and balance changes aswell.

I guess he´s equally (un)involved in both.

The problem isn´t if or when it´s going to be implemented.
The problem will be it will run just as smooth as any other pvp ZOS provides and be balanced just as perfectly.

They have people with no clue about pvp trying to create a fun experience in an environment they know nothing about.

Can't wait to have arenas with infinite Meteor drops.

I say bring on Arenas ( should have been the PvP go to mechanic in the first place ) and Battlegrounds. Then advance Cyrodill past the Molag Bal story and rebuild it and possibly removing the factions conflict ( factions werent a good idea in the fist place either ).

In one of their 2016 livestreams they talked about Arenas and Battlegrounds as something they wanted to do, but wasn't coming until 2017 at least. They might mention it at E3, but I doubt they'll give us an ETA, I mean they haven't even mentioned the Expansions for Q3 and Q4 yet, so they will likely focus on those more.

This will just be another thing like Spellcrafting, that will be put on the backburner until they feel it fits into the game.

Don't get me wrong, I would absolutely kill to have instanced, balanced and fair PvP battlegrounds. The combat system in ESO is such that it absolutely excels in small scale fighting. In the standard Zerg vs. Zerg that Cyrodiil favours, it is impossible to have as skillful gameplay, which is a huge shame. Not to mention most of the performance issues in Cyrodiil stem from having so many people in one place. They should hopefully have realised by now that they cannot fix Cyrodiil, and hopefully they will start offering more alternatives for PvP-minded players, to spread them out across several PvP instances, to reduce the stress put on Cyrodiil. That being said, I really doubt they would do it this year.

But it would be his job, to have a least a clue about what effect his decisions have on performance. The lead designer is as well pretty clueless about this and expects wonders "I'd rather not want to cut down on numbers, but prefer to get it fixed" is telling me, that he does not understand the effects game mechanics have on player behavior, which in return lead to poor performance. He expects the tech team to perform a miracle - wtf ZOS, you need to hire people who know their stuff.

Remastered to what - Skyrim is ok as it is - a good base to mod the crap out of it and make it playable.

If I had to choose one from Cyro, arena, dueling or battlegrounds I'd easily choose Cyrodiil.

Did they really said its coming in 2017? All I knew is, that they said it is in developement, but the release isnt "sure" .

Nevertheless, I cant really believe that it takes so long Tod implement a battleground or arena if they would like Tod do so and thats scare me

I think an instanced arena / battleground wont have any lags, thats the reason so many want it

Anyone who thinks this should think again. It'll be crammed onto the same server hardware and the feature in question will likely result in a significant net increase in the number of players all hammering the server at the same time. If anything, I'd imagine the lag would get worse.
