Okori weapon damage glyph

I found a few pages that were pretty old but speculated that the weapon damage glyph (okori/power+additive potency) only procs with weapon abilitys and light/heavy attacks. So for example it would proc with wrecking blow or steel tornado as well as any light/heavy attack but not abilitys such as surprise attack, ambush, etc as those are class and not weapon abilitys.

Anyone know if this is true?

This is a hard question to answer because the right answer has differed depending on the patch. A few months ago dual wield skills procced glyphs depending on the skill used. Flurry and whirling blade procced main hand weapon glyphs. Twin slashes and hidden blade skills procced off hand weapon glyphs. Then around the time Orsinium dropped they appeared to only proc on light and heavy attacks. Sometime after TG they appeared to work again. Right now on the PTS main hand duel wield skills proc main hand glyphs and offhand attacks proc offhand glyphs. One thing that is certain is that light weaving will always proc your glyphs.

I would agree with that the best solution is to test abilities and glyph procs when the next game update drops. Its easier to view glyphs like damage shield or weapon power if you aren't using a DPS addon.

I decided to do a small test after posting. It appears that weapon power glyphs only proc on light/heavy attacks. Damage glyphs like poison and absorb stamina proc on weapon skills and light/ heavy attacks.

A surprising find Hidden blade now procs Damage glyphs on main hand weapons instead of off hand. Twin slashes still procs on off hand weapons. Whirling blade and flurrying still proc on main hand weapons.

Hi it will proc 100% of the time (after cool downs - although i think it lasts longer than the cool down). It will only proc of light & heavy attacks though no skills based attacks.

I believe the only exception is maybe NB ability twin slashes (as the weapon is making contact). The best way to check this out is craft a new cheap weapon - stick a green fire glyph on it and see if the enemy catches fire whilst using different abilities. This way you will know for definite what procs a weapon glyph.

Wow, what a confusing mess! Lol, great to know though. I found that light/heavy attacks seemed to be proccing it with two handed weapons such as maces and swords, and as well with my main hand while dual wielding. It also procced at other times but I could not figure out what I actually did to proc it and was inconsistent, the only thing I found consistent was light/heavy attacks.

Also, is any of the information from previous patches you provided in any official patch notes/developer posts or is it based off your own experience? Asking because I couldnt find any current/relevant information on the topic hence the post.

I don't think there is information about the how glyphs proc on any of the patch notes. A lot of what I found out was just trial and error over the past few months. For instance it took a while for weapon enchants to rotate on werewolf light attacks. They were changed to cycle back and forth a few patches ago. That's something I thought dual wield could have used so you don't have to worry about combining main hand and offhand proc skills.

I always tests certain mechanics before and slightly after a big patch to try and see if anything has changed. A few things are off my list now though like the flurry speed and bleed tests because those have been fixed recently. Certain information, like blocking stamina drain being every .5 seconds no matter how many hits your take, just tends to float around. Sometimes you're fortunate enough to find out about it and take note sometimes you miss it.

I do know, however, that I've seen my weapon enchants proc when I use an ultimate. For instance:

On my DK, I have a fire and poison enchant on my DW daggers.

I Dragon Leaped into an enemy and the enemy suddenly got the burning effect applied. As you know, Dragon Leap doesn't deal any fire damage. So, it would appear that some abilities still proc your weapon enchantments.

    Hope this helps.
