Radiant Oppression Scaling (Not a nerf thread)

Building a Templar and just have a question about this ability

"Deals up to 20% additional damage in proportion to your current Magicka"

I interpret this as if my magicka bar is full when I activate the ability it will do 20% more damage, however, if my magic resources are low it will be lower damage? So if I am low, popping a restor magicka potion before activating will make it hit harder.

Is this accurate? Or is this just some confusing tooltip statement that means it scales higher the higher your max stat it?

You won't do lower damage just the flat out figure (plus crit per tick remember) with minimal magika. My radiant says it'll do 19k min but each tick seems to be at least 11k without crit...strange skill....

Essentially, yes. But keep in mind that Radiant Destruction does scale with Maximum Magicka anyways, along with practically everything that costs magicka.

For some reason I read that subject line as "Racial Oppression Scaling."

The regular amount of damage scaled with your maximum magicka, then does a secondary bonus amount based on how much magicka you currently have so every 5% of your total is equal to 1% damage increase. If say you're sitting at 3/5 (60%) your total magicka then it's dealing an extra 12% damage applied after the fact.
