I've been noticing quite a few as well. Seems the performance-breaking anti-bot technology needs some help.

How do you know they are bots?

the movement and the routines. strait line movement, always the same paths. stop in front of nodes for a few sec then pick. you can see when they go to a node they sometime stand there for a few min. then continue.

I think the most obvious is speed and weapon sheath. Most farmers roll, run, jump, streak, major endurance. These bots just walk with weapon sheathed. Thats a dead giveaway

No I was curious, I farm in that same location between runs to keep up with my potion habit. If I see these sort of things I will certainly report them.

I was there yesterday and noticed a lot of people harvesting . I should of paid more attention to the movements . I thought this was fixed .

So, if I run around Hollow City harvesting herbs, people automatically assume I'm a bot. Sweet.

This is a notorious location for farming flowers, and has been for some time, as long as I can remember at least. I know when I'm farming there, I have a pretty specific route that I follow. And sometimes after picking nodes I stand there too, perhaps to afk.

Not saying it's not a legitimate bot issue, but I haven't seen a bot since a few months after launch. Regardless, if you want something done about it, you need to report this directly to a moderator. You'll get the best results with a video too, but don't post it here. Post it on YouTube and provide a link via private message directly to a moderator. Posting it on a thread would be against the code of conduct and can get your post removed, or worst-case you can get banned.

What do you mean? Are you referring to what is against the code of conduct?

I'm not saying there's anything here currently that is. I was simply letting you know that if you wanted to escalate the issue, that you shouldn't post a video of said individual directly on the forums.

It's especially noticable when they are going to node spots, but there is nothing there... A real player wouldn't go and stand right over the spot if they saw it was missing they would move on to the next.

Best bet is to video record and send in a ticket describing everything with the character name in question . Even without video , you need to submit a ticket in game to start an investigation .

I noticed one last night. As @Runs said, you can tell because they follow a pattern and stop at places where there should be a node spots that are empty.

They are there.

(not defending or doubting bots- just noting that I probably seem like one...)

They are there and the difference between a bot and a player is easy to spot. Anyone who tells you otherwise probably has something to gain from casting doubt.

No problem. Here's a good test. Go to Coldharbour and stand on the bridge over the pond by the wayshrine/guild merchants. There are about a dozen alchemy nodes along the edge of the water. Wait and watch.

You'll see a lot of players running the area. You can tell players because, even if they have a pattern, they will usually pass over nodes that have already been harvested. Also, they sometimes stop and open a map.

But you might also see something run past to every single node, in a pattern. Wait about 10-15 minutes and they will return, going over the nodes again in the same pattern.

Coldharbor is small enough to spot this behavior.

Once I ran in Coldharbour with my lvl 10 Templar farming nodes and a group of bipedals called me out in zonechat "there's a bot", to which the common courtesy program dictated me to reply "Hello Human"...

I've seen bots active within the past few months as well. Both in Craglorn and Cold. Its always blatantly obvious when they go to node spots and stand there for 30+ seconds when there isn't even a flower there. Then do a B line to where the next node in the line is yet someone has already picked it and stand there for another 30 or so seconds.

Real players run about to actual nodes as they don't want to waste time. If they notice a flower isn't there usually they realize it before they get to the actual node and keep on moving. These bots on the other hand go directly to the node regardless if something is there and stand there for several seconds before moving onto the next.

I usually don't report them as I see it as mostly a waste of my own time. It's simple to get ahead of the "bots" as they move so slow. Nothing like the teleport farming bots of days past.
