Vet Maw Mechanics Discussion

I'm trying to get a group through Vet Maw, and I have some questions about the mechanics. I would really like to have a firm understanding of the mechanics so that our group can progress through this.

1. On the first boss, how much HP does each shield phase have? I have heard 1 million for 70% and 3 million for 30%. I have also heard 2 million and 4 million. Does anyone know?
2. On the first boss, what effect does hitting the blue floating orbs have on the boss? I'm talking about the orbs that pop up a message on the screen if you come into contact with them.
3. On the first boss, I'm wondering what the best CP allocation would be to help mitigate the damage of the shield phases. Is it considered magic damage? DoT? Also, does mitigating the damage with CP work, or is it unresistable?
4. On the second boss, does the mid-round conversion ever affect the tanks? Or does the game have a smart system that recognizes not to convert anyone that has an active taunt? (Conversion is when your color switches during the middle of the round)
5. On the third boss, how do you get cursed while in the main arena?

If anyone else has other questions about Vet Maw mechanics, post them here! Also, I haven't found any guides online explaining the basic mechanics, so if people are interested we can talk about those as well.

You can watch a few of my videos if you want to see the fights done by us and it may help you, as for your questions.

    1) You can see in my video, from memory it's 1.5mil and 2.4mil but I am not 100% without watching my video.

    2) The blue floating orbs "empower" the boss and you can see the blue orbs floating around his mace, I believe this just makes him hit a little harder although I am not sure. Still a bit of testing to do..

    3) It is magic damage yes, all of our red CPs are 100% in Elemental Defender and the rest in Spell Shield for the extra spell resistance.

    4) The mid-round conversion will never affect the people that have aggro. Assuming only the tanks have aggro then no, it will never convert them.

    5) During the third boss you get the Breath of Lorkhaj debuff one of two ways, either going into the back yard (through the portal) or stepping on a black platform after Rakkhat has left it.

Thanks @Paulington . I have been watching pretty much every video on Youtube that I can find to try to learn all that I can. But yall do the bosses so smoothly that it's hard to see some of the mechanics.

Another question: I have seen multiple videos of boss 2 where the healers are using Siege Shield. I am assuming that you are using "Propelling Shield" just to add more range, and I'm thinking this makes it easier for the tanks to switch bosses and for the DKs to chain in the adds. Is this correct thinking, or is there some mechanic that I'm missing?

The siege shield is so that all people can attack the black boss in the roomsplit because he generally gets less damage than the white boss. Sometimes for chains.

the group i play with usually the tanks put siege shield up, as @woeler said, it is for dpsing the dark boss on neutral and for chaining, but also during 3-4 add phases very rarely tank will need to range taunt a light add

I took a closer look at the shield phases. Looks like it's 1.7 million and 2.5 million shield HP.
