It's outrageous that I subscribe every month and yet I still have to pay for the new mount. Talk about a slap in the face!
It should be available for free to all subscribers, just like the the crafting bags. Since I subscribe and rarely purchase crowns, I am unable to buy this new mount and it's not fair.
Or at least, subscribers should get a smaller version for free, maybe with fewer sparkles or something.

I've been subbing from the first,and paid 42000 gold for my horse,and aint griping one whit.
No,the mounts should NOT be free for subbers.The crafting bags are by far enough of a reward.2 -

✭New mount should be replaced outright with a proper server maintenance. Or maybe the proceeds can pay for some new technicians and engineers. I mean really, at this point I would almost be willing to pay 4,000 crowns just to spend a quarter without crashes. Things have been unplayable (literally, not figuratively) since TG hit live. I spent a significant portion of my play time over the last 3 months troubleshooting and gathering data. During this process I proved it was server-side to ZOS. I gave them all of the information, collected by numerous individuals all over the country with different ISPs.
They said "Thank you so much for all of the great information. It will be escalated for investigation." This was after about 3 escalations over the course of a month, having already spoken to around 10 different representatives and extensive troubleshooting.
So... there's that, for what it's worth... Imho this is far more important than overpriced mounts. I reckon if we stop buying these things that the vast majority so clearly agrees is a marketing ploy, they might get the point. How can we continue bugging them about performance issues but still continue buying vanity items without getting what we're already paying for? I don't care if you're subbed or B2P, you paid for a game that isn't working as well as it should.

I was just thinking this earlier today. We don't have enough mounts available in-in-game as it is.
To OP, while the mount is ridiculously expensive, no, you should not get it for free. You get crowns every month from subscribing to spend on whatever you want. You could have chosen to save those crowns, but you didnt. Also, before you cry something about how I don't get it, I sub, and have since launch pretty much, so I do get it.PC NA AD

I hate to be "that guy", but — you don't "have" to pay for the new mount. I am more than certain that you are aware of this. Mounts released in the crown store are "fluff items". Or "vanity items". Meaning that they're there for collector's sake, or bragging rights....
Or in other words... If you think that it's too expensive, then simply don't buy it. But to think that it should be available to only subs? Well... That's a bit far-fetched in my opinion.1 -

Slap in the face? Melodramatic comes to mind. Entitlement also comes to mind.
ESO doesn't provide subscriber rewards but they offer perks.
At that, even with games that provide subscriber rewards mounts are rare. If this is your biggest issue then your in great shape.
