Dear Zos, please improve/revamp fishing for the next DLC!!
Dear Zos,
I actually enjoy fishing in this game but only in small bits because as it stands the fishing is good (when listening to music ) but not great! This is why I implore you to please improve fishing in the next DLC. This is one feature of the game that could have a lasting positive impact if the improvements are done right. Fishing is and can be a great fluff piece to an already good game, by giving players something fun and interesting to do when they are bored of the current meta of questing/pvp and trials-dungeons. As it stands now fishing is merely used for achievements and obtaining “Perfect Roe”. A few suggestions I have are –
1. Make fishing part of the crafting section and give it an actual skill line with a couple of active skills and a few passives… just a few crazy examples below.
Skills -
a. My fishing spot is a secret – an applied buff that allows you to see hidden fishing spots.
b. Master baiter – allows you to bait an area to slightly improve the chances of catching pregnant fishes (Ie – better chance of getting perfect roe). Last 10 minutes and has a 2 hour cooldown.
c. Trap setter – Allows you to set 5 traps each day throughout Tamriel and the following day you can check your traps and collect your bounty (basically fishing’s version of hirelings).
Passives –
a. Long cast – improves your casting range by 4/8/12 meters.
b. Expert fisherman – improves the chances of catching a rare fish by 2/4/6%.
c. I have a family to feed – increases the sale price of all rare fish by 15/30/45%.
2. Have weekly fishing tournaments.
3. Allow crafting of fishing equipment –
a. A recipe for provisioners to craft new bait that can be used in any water type.
b. Woodworkers can craft fishing poles with a few minor buffs.
c. Clothiers can craft fishing hats with a few minor buffs.
6. Daily fishing quests
7. Greatly improve the stuff you can find in “wet gunny sacks”. I for one would like to have the chance to find rare pet or even a rare mount but I would settle for more gold and or treasure maps.
Anyways that is all I have… please feel free to add more suggestions!!
Hammy!!
