How do Rewards of the Worthy even work

It should be 1 mail per 20k AP, but it's still subject to whatever delay happens with mail that requires a rezone to pop it. Mine like to come through in batches lol.

Basically, after earning 20k a you will get mail, aka rewards of the worthy. You have a 4/5 chance to get something that is so bad it won't sell in guild store that no one would ever need, aka defending ice staff of the marksman etc. A 1/10 chance to get something that you may be able to use with the wrong trait (only to complete set bonuses) , or at least is guaranteed to sell in a guild store for the same reason. A 1/20 chance to get a piece of jewelry that you don't want, and with a wrong trait. And a 1/20 chance of getting jewelry that you absolutely need despite being the wrong trait. Contrary to popular belief stamina sets with jewelry do not come in robust and magicka jewelry will not come in arcane, it just doesn't happen. People selling them in guild stores are haxxors.

I have to agree. Never once have I received anything even remotely worthwhile from one of those "reward" mails.

Out of curiosity, is there anyone who HAS received something that is actually good (useful in an end-game build or sellable for a significant amount of gold)? I'd love to hear about it.

Be prepared for useless stuff like Marksman Destro staffs and Vicious Death axes, 90% of RotW is useless

On a night pvp we earn between 120-250k AP and it still takes a long time to get decent pieces.

I have received some good stuff, especially since thieves guild update.

Perhaps you weren't here at launch, when we didn't even get soul gems or gold, only green Rewards of The Deconstruction. The PVP rewards have improved so much since then!

If you primarily participated in PVP at launch, you were probably broke. It was expensive, especially below veteran level, the only way to obtain grand soul gems was buying stacks fron other players. IIRC the campaign reward for being in the top 1% of Auriel's Bow was around 5k or 10k gold or something, no special gear you could sell to other players.
It's only good if your pvp character is also your crafter.
Being a crafter changes the pvp rewards you receive? First I've heard of this.

Rewards for the worthy! That's what the mail subject is. Maybe I'm being pedantic but I see this error all over the forum and it triggers some kind of ocd or something lol.

Restoration Staff of Vicious Death, vet 15, precise, Glyph Deals 414 unresistable damage. Blue.

A bit ironic, yes. But, when I level my templar that can be his weapon while I use spears, it works for the set, and adds the resto passives for healing boost and magic regen.

Edit: If I manage to get the enchanting leveled (Jeez THAT is a grind!) then that glyph will change.

I got a purple sharpened sword of Vicious Death yesterday that I sold for 35k. I think your math is a bit exaggerated. 50% of stuff is still decon trash. A majority of what is left can be sold for about 1k. Probably every 3 weeks I get something that's sellable north of 20k. Usually it's from end of campaign rewards but every now and again the RNG gods will bless you.

Just as a warning OP in case you didn't know this if you PvP'd on say a VR16 and got a bunch of AP (say 100-200k) you are suppose to get 5-10 mails with VR16 loot. If you didn't get the mails after a few days and you decide to pvp on a non VR16 alt and you gain say 20-60k AP on said alt and start receiving mails. Most of the time the mails will all be the level of the alt. So you will unfortunately be receiving like 10-20+ mails with the lowbie. At least in my experience.

Happened again yesterday. I pvp'd all week didn't get many mails maybe one or 2 ( was suppose to get 10-20 ) and last night I got a bunch with the lowbie but he only made 78k AP so I wasn't suppose to get that many lowbie stuff.

This doesn't ALWAYS happen though I have had the mails work as intended and if you log out later you get a bunch of mails at once and all are the correct lvl.

Just informing you that the above situation does happen from time to time so it might be wise to JUST pvp with max lvls if you are looking for specific rewards of the worthy drops

    It's ~20k AP on a v16 down to ~4k on a L10 (in a CP campaign, anyway). I've no idea why you wouldn't have got any after a relog/teleport.

I never paid attention to my AP numbers, and may be what people are writing here is true.
But, my guess (and I may be wrong) is that mail arrives as soon as you turn in the PvP quest. So the fastest way to get
mail rewards - take the bounty quest (kill 20/20 players/clases) cause it can be done very quickly, and as soon as it is done, port back to base and turn in. Mail will arrive soon afterwards. There is a limit on how much quests can be turned in (i think 7-8 quests per day) - then they just disappear from the bounty board. But you can try your luck doing other PvP quests - scouting resources or capturing castles (although it will take much longer to complete them)

I've had this happen regularly but not every time so I imagine it's just a case of the AP gained from said quest takes you over the ROTW AP threshold.

You would be surprised how well some of that "Lowbie" PvP gear sells... the V16 gear market is flooded with depressed prices on most of that stuff. Lower lvl gear is rare and if you need a item or two at lvl 30 say, you are willing to pay well for said item, 4k to 5 k for a blue item is not uncommon,
