Please any full guide of vMA?

ИВАН_ВОДКА
i tried to search but without luck
i need at least short describe of every stage with mechanics
i never ever been in VMA myself, and i wont waste my time for useless attempts without knowledge of mechanics first

thanks in advance

cheers, your ИВАН_ВОДКА

P.S - my setup
V16 Dark Elf, Magicka NB ~300 CP, All Legendary armor and weapons, TBS or Julianos, Arcane or Healthy Willpower jewelry, can equip 1xKena + torug's for best spell power option, or 2x Nerieneth for extra health

    This would be my suggestion:

1 - Watch youtube videos for your class in vMA - there are loads, I know that @Alcast has some incredibly helpful videos for them (Also, thanks Alcast, they're awesome...)

2 - Go try it out. You'll probably get killed by some stupid NPC caster that you hadn't spotted. That's all about getting up to speed with the arena - so have a few goes and try not to rage quit. Don't worry if you die a lot trying to get through a stage - it genuinely feels 10x easier once you've completed it

3 - If you hit the wall and just cannot get past a certain boss, then come and ask here! I know that I had some real trouble on my stamblade with the final boss on my first complete - reading through suggestions here, looking at videos and tweaking my build are what got me through

Despite what some people may say, there are many folks on here who will go out of their way to give you specific advice and recommendations for certain fights that can be a pain in the ***. There are a few fights that are common blocks for a lot of people - but some problems can be fixed with a simple build tweak. For example I switch out agility jewellery to endurance for a couple of fights - got that tip from the forums.

On a side note, Cyrillic script looks so cool.

    You absolutely can!

Magicka NB is one of the best set-ups for vMA - at least they populate the leaderboards with scores so high that my stamblade doesn't stand a chance...

As far as I'm concerned 300 CP is definitely enough. You may have to change them around for different arenas if you're having trouble (specifically hardy vs elemental defender) but it is doable. Your gear set-up is solid and you have options to change gear for more sustain if you feel you need it - again, I do the same and swap to 2 piece bloodspawn for the last fight when I want to make sure I have an ultimate up for the ceremonial guards.

As someone who plays a 'glass cannon', switching out gear for more sustain is the number 1 tip I received - try it first specced for damage - arcane jewellery etc. If you feel too squishy, switch out to healthy jewellery. Actually, as you're a nightblade I'm going to change my top tip - keep siphoning attacks up 100% of the time. The arena doesn't give you much room to make mistakes: no resources = dead, unless you can get a sigil.

Have you tried doing normal MA first? If not I would definitely do so - all of the mechanics are either the same in vMA or just a bit different.

Final thought: Rome wasn't built in a day, my first complete on my stamblade took me more than a month of trying and trying again. As I mentioned above, the last boss was a real block for me. I didn't try again for two weeks - went back and did it first time... I didn't even get excited at first as it felt so easy I couldn't believe I'd struggled. It's amazing how your instincts develop with some time away from it.

Sounds good. I would go with Nerien'eth as with Kena you may run into sustain issues. Try it one way for a bit and then switch it up and see how well it works or not.

You have the gear for sure. I did my first VMA clear on a magic NB with 5 Julianos, 3 Willpower (magic/spell damage), 2 nerienth, and a non-set resto and destro staff. The best players are going for Scathing, Kena, VMA staff, and Torugs or Julianos swords for speed runs. NBs just dont need a resto staff. Refreshing path, Sap, and Funnel are more than enough to stay alive.

Build videos and guides are nice, but you just need to get in there and play. Biggest thing for a NB is to remember that your heals come from damage. Stay on the offense at all times and you will be fine. Also, dont be afraid to grab sigils when learning. They really simplify a hand full of tough situations when you are learning. Sigils barely affect your score unless you are competing for the top 10 spots or so. They are certainly better on your score than a death.

Build I am running now is: Scathing, Kena, willpower, VMA staff, Torgus swords.

Staff: Swallow Soul, Crippling Grasp, Merciless Resolve, Elemental Blockade, Inner Light, Soul Harvest.
DW: Sap, Siphoning Attacks, Impale, Refreshing Path, Flex (Prox Det most of the time, Harness for extra defense, or Prolonged Suffering for stage 9), Meteor or Veil.

After next patch, Harness Magic will be really powerful and hard to leave out. Will probably switch to Twisting path for more damage and run Harness most of the time in my flex spot. Prox is nice, but can be tricky to time in there.

alcasts guide are good, but you may need to build your own strategies for some areas. THE MOST important thing in maelstrom is to identify what is killing you and put an end to it.

    Here's my guide :
    1 - Enter maelstrom arena,
2 - Spend time doing the boring stages and wait for the long and boring mobs spawn in each rounds
3 - Complete the arena and open last chest
4 - Get rewarded with an unwanted item for your character

Repeat 100+ times, get pissed and frustrated then quit maelstrom arena with the same nirnhorn weapon you had when you started your 1st VMA run.
