Question Regarding Gear Upgrade and Kutas

So I realized today when you upgrade your gear, your enchant will be upgraded as well. Does this mean we don't really need kutas if we have enough materials to upgrade the item to gold?

This only affects items that are drops as the game has various scaled versions of each one in its database, so when you upgrade an item that came from a drop or mail reward, it will scale the enchant on it accordingly. However, the same does not apply to crafted items, whatever enchant you put on there is what will remain in effect; putting a Ta enchant on a white crafted item then upgrading it to Legendary will remain a Ta enchant.
