I spent months testing builds and I couldn't decide..

magica DK or stamina DK ? for pvp and duelling.. and can heavy armour DK duel successfully? (now and in DB patch)

please explain your answer

I tried both ( still lvl 26).
I have notice that Magicka DK as good survivability(dragon blood + restoration staff) and AoE damage ( that is if you use wall of elements and Impulse).The changes to vampire ability( mist form) in DB will give all magicka builds a boon.

Stamina Dk as good burst ( if you use a combo of skill+ Take flight) and survivability depends on your armor( also their passives and active abilities for tanking) .
The changes to DK(poison) in DB will be a boon for StamDK bow build.

In PvP,I have seen many StamDk not magicka DK.

But, again I am still low lvl for a DK at the moment.

As someone who has seen heavy armor being used quite effectively in PvP... yes, its quite possible to duel successfully with it. And while DKs may no longer be the terror they used to be in cyrodil, they are still pretty strong.

In the end though, it still depends on your preference and gamestyle. Stamina DK if you like shield rush or spamming wrecking blows, magicka DK is you like burning things...

Just make two characters, and play both, enjoy them until you figure it out for yourself?

Stamina Dk.

Combination of damage output, cheap heavy physical hitting ultimates for sustain (battle roar) and good utility with firescales reflect and healing buff from igneous for utility make them an excellent pvp class.

Obviously main damage comes from weapon skills from 2h or sword and shield. Dots and utility come from dk class.

You can pvp/duel in heavy but i would recommend 5 medium at least for the passives

see? that's why I can't decide.. because Stamina DKs relay on weapon skills for damage.. meaning WB with 2h which is really bad skill imo since it works only on those are are noobs and can't role dodge them, don't get me wrong WB is best damage in game but pretty slow and can't hit someone who knows when to block and when to attack. Magica DKs play style is more dynamic and can work with many situations, even when you are outnumbered. am I wrong at this ?
