I just got access to the forum and thought I say hello. Unfortunately I couldn't find any Welcome thread so I thought I make one.
Maybe it could be stickied so new people like myself can say hello. =]
I started playing on the North America PS4 server not even a week ago and I was a bit disappointed at first as I was expecting a spectacular first encounter a la Skyrim, but after a few teething problems (sadly the randomly crackling/glitching sound persists..) I am starting to enjoy the game more and more.
Maybe it could be stickied so new people like myself can say hello. =]

You're right that ESO is a much slower roll than Skyrim, but in my experience, the narrative is just as satisfying.
You may have already figured this out, but don't try to grind ESO. Just play it at the pace that feels natural and fun to you and you'll enjoy the game so much more.Edited by Gidorick on May 15, 2016 10:30AMWhat ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

The forums can be a little bit cruel at times but otherwise it's a great place for knowledge. Don't let the negative based threads ruin your fun of the game though most of the issues here are not as serious as they are made out to be.
As for playing the game it's a little slower than Skyrim and other TES games as others have said and you'll have to accept there are some areas you need to make adjustments to your play style as it's an MMO but overall the game has an interesting story and some fantastic quests to help teach the lore of this era.@Turelus - EU PC Megaserver

I'm no stranger to mmos or gaming in general. been at it for 26 years now. So far, touch wood, I haven't encountered any major problems and I hope it stays that way.

On teh forumz we are truly at war against the three alliances, Ebonheart Pact (meady nords), the Daggerfall Covenant (potato looking bretons), and Aldmeri Dominion (sophisticated elves that are too "cool" for dancing naked). Unless I completely misunderstood what Smileybones meant xD.
Play safe, be in all of the alliances, but keep your heart only with one. I have yet to find mine ;___;...I like sweetrolls and I cannot lie0 -

✭Also, dont worry about where you start really, once you reach lv50 you can do some special quests that will allow you to move to the other starting areas I like sweetrolls and I cannot lie0 -

Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.***Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis1 -
