Cyrodiil Lag (PC)

I've been playing for over a year, and the lag in PvP has not changed at all. When I started, I wasn't in to PC gaming much, and my computer sucked... it like 10 years old and could barely run the game at minimum quality. I could not even play PvP, because I got a max of 10 fps there.
Later, I built a new PC, which can run the game max quality 60 fps. But in PvP, minimum quality, I get the SAME framerate as I had before. It's barely playable, even in small group. I love the PvP in this game, and until DB comes out it's really the only thing I do.

So what's the deal with all the lag? It's not my PC, not my internet... and I know, this is a VERY common complaint, so why is nothing ever done about it?

    Three words: Single Core Performance.

Till they change that singe the game doesnt support multi threading, every single crowded area cyrodiil or not will suck in terms of FPS.

Strange my FPS is fine it's my ping effected by lag . I Run Ultra high graphics too . Sustain between 29-45 FPS during lag spikes . ping spikes around 780 at the worst 3 factions at one keep fight . An I'm just running a Laptop .

    What did you build ?

Because they don't know how to deal with it. They have given up on Cyrodiil.
The antibot/lighting patch brought the lag, they don't dare reverse those changes (for obvious reasons I guess).

Large Cyrodiil battles are more demanding on client hardware than the rest of the game. The low frame rate is separate from server latency which causes rubber banding, unresponsive weapon swap, etc.

The more high end PCs, like 980Ti and i7-5820K seem to get around 30-40 fps at 1080p max settings in large PVP battles.

The rest of us get even lower frame rate in those situations. Sometimes in these intense battles, my poor laptop drops all the way down to 1 fps (1 frame per second) on lowest possible settings - like trying to stay alive fighting through powerpoint presentation, while in PVE I'm usually at ~45fps.

Gaming computers and laptops have a lifespan at max around 5 years . Some would argue less , more like 3 . You have to keep up with your gaming rig to enjoy MMO games . You can't just expect game companies to find a magical way to make out dated computers respond well .

Lag still happens for sure but you shouldn't be getting a slide show or 1 FPS . My biggest problem in the 64 bit sound bug during large battles . Wish they would fix that . I watch people in zone flip out and say it's unplayable when I'm experiencing high latency but not to where I can't play still . The server just takes a long time to catch up but eventually does for me .

I have no idea why some people have it worse . My laptops not even a industry top dog . I've had two years and will be getting a new one next year . Everyone says they're are running the "best" , but still say it's unplayable ? I'd be confused as hell too .

My PC still sucks relatively, I built a budget starter build for my first. My specs are ok, except for my graphics card. I have a Radeon HD6850, so the lag is partially my fault... but I can run massive PvE fights great, the only lag I ever get is in Cyrodiil. Even if my PC sucks, there is no reason for PvP to have such a huge framerate difference.

Those large battles are a lot more demanding on your hardware. You can mitigate this a bit by staying away from keeps under siege, ganking in spots between keeps, playing during off peak times (or on low pop campaigns) etc., or reducing settings / resolution in Cyrodiil.

Eh no, I can't fight one person without lag spikes. Cyrodiil in general gives me a lower framerate lol

The lag isn't your fault but the FPS is . Your PC is loading information from the server . A LOT of information in PvP .
