Hey guys - Ive been afk for about 6 months with a heavy workload. life is starting to become normal again, and I'm totally lost.

what content is relevant right now? If I do the Imp city, will it be pointless?

whats this about dlc specific skill lines?

I'm vr3. can i even play the new dlc?

are there any comprehensive threads that can help bring me up to speed on both combat changes and new/changed features?

any links would be helpful. thanks

I wonder what it is like to be away from keyboard for half a year, lol. Sorry for the tease.
    1. First purchasable DLC was the Imperial City. It is essentialy PvP with elements of PvE. There is the actual city with districts and then Imperial City's Sewers which basically serve as a public dungeon, expect to run into a fight or get ganked often. There is also a new currency, limited only to Imperial City called Tel Var stone. You can use these to buy stuff from merchants present in the Imperial City alliances' bases. You obtain these stones from killing the daedra, there is also a questline with a story. Depending on how much stones you carry (100, 1000, 10000), you get a multiplier to gain even more. But if enemy player kills you, you lose 80% to him whereas if you die to NPCs, you will lose 10%. Naturally, the whole zone is V16 but since you are in PvP-active zone, you are battle-leveled as in Cyrodiil. Your current vet. rank will suffice as NPCs will pose no real treat, it just depends how well can you do againts players.
The actual state depends on campaigns I'd guess. Haderus, for instance, is more of a farming campaign, with some of those pesky gankers that terrorize PvE players from time to time. It is still active and populated.
    2. Second released DLC was Orsinium. It is PvE only zone with a lot of content such as quests, world group bosses, some new stuff such as collecting relics for Museum, costumes and much more. IMO this DLC has a really great storyline, decently long too, a lot of things to do and overall, if you prefer PvE over PvP, get Orsinium instead of Imperial City. It is also scaled to V16 but you are battle-leveled as in Cyrodiil or the Imperial City, so you can start questing at any time.
    3. Lastly, Thieves Guild. Compared to Orsinium DLC, this one might be smaller in terms of zone size - Abah's Landing x Wrothgar, but it offers just as much of content as Orsinium. Again, you will encounter new things as it is with every DLC. If you prefer to sneak, steal and like to be thief, this is the obvious choice for you (I feel like kind of a bad salesman). As far as my opinion on the story goes, this is probably one of the best stories I've played through in ESO. It has many plots and there is something always going on, pretty good DLC for its lower price compared to Orsinium. As it was with Orsinium, this, purely PvE DLC is also scaled to V16 and you are battle-leveled.

Also, about new skill lines - there is one so far in the Thieves Guild, you can google it up. It is otherwise inaccesible. There is no new skill line for Orsinium or the Imperial City. However, with the new Dark Brotherhood DLC coming out in 2-3 weeks, there will be also more new passives for that.

If you still have any questions, send me a message here, I'll give you my account name and I will gladly take you through the details.

As I've said in the Orsinium article, you don't need to be VR5 or VR16. You can start any DLC as any lvl, there is no requirement. All DLCs will scale you so that you can handle it.
