Grinding?

UnavengedAngel
HOW the heck do people get to max level so fast?! Is there a place to grind to level certain abilities quickly? is there a method to leveling abilities quickly?

  • UnavengedAngel
About how much time do you think it takes to get from level 1 to max level?

Lots of places to grind, just do a quick search on Google for videos and map locations. You can stack xp with potions and scrolls as well to go even faster. Weapon and armor can be made with xp boost traits for your skill line.

People will tell you different estimations, all I can say to this is that it comes down to how much time you can play, ultimately and if you have access to the resources you need for xp boosts through guilds, crown store or other high lvl characters on your account.

Thanks man! I've found a couple things already!

I had the same problem like you a while ago, I didnt know how to level up fast, here is what I learned:

*focus on MAIN missions, such as the ones from Cadwell once you reach vet level
*Dungeons give you quite some xp
*grinding, easy to do, a bit laggy once it gets full of people but an easy way to make money, level up AND level up your crafting skills. Go to The Rift, Riften, at the outer walls you will see the sign of outlaws refuge, before you reach it you will see a tons of senches that respawn very easily.
I like sweetrolls and I cannot lie

I saw that online! I was thinking of going for that. Spam some AOE skills and have the skills I want to level on my skillbar

I found that doing the main quest line/side quests throughout the areas was the best way to level up.

Go through each map location by location to pick up all the side quests and the main quest and knock them out with a double XP scroll. It took me about 3-4ish weeks to clear Cadwell Silver and Gold by playing for roughly 2-3 hrs a night (very casual schedule).

I personally cant grind mobs endlessly unless i have good company; and doing ONLY the main mission i found that the giant gaps between when you pick up the quest and when you actually turn it in for experience is a waste of any XP scroll. You also get way more out of the game if you pick up the side quests, some are kind of humorous.

That's the ticket right there. When I grind, I have one bar with an AOE and 4 skills and an Ulti I am trying to level. Remember that slotting a weapon skill will level that weapon, even if you are using a different one. My back bar is for buffs and pulling mobs. The way to handle most grind spots is to light attack 3-5 groups of mobs, put down some ground aoe, and wait for everything to come to you. Round them up and burn them down.

The only issue is that some classes get access to a good AoE faster than others. Stam characters get Steel Tornado very early so that is a solid option. Magic characters usually need to wait a while for Elemental Ring or Sap Essence (NB). Magic Templar's get sweep right out of the gate, which is also a wonderful grind tool. When i did my Sorc, I stacked Destro staff skill to unlock ring, and with my magic NB, I did the same thing with siphon skills to unlock Sap. Sap and Sweep are probably the best grind tools because they heal you why you DPS. You can just stand and spam.

Also once DB hits the live server, use gear with the training trait. With 8-9 pieces of gear with training, you should get double the amount of xp per kill this way.

Xp scrolls. Xp pots. Grinding zombies in various places. Using old orsinium and rkindlaeft. Grind buddy for 10% more xp. Harborage quest every 5 lvls. Random dungeon. 1 run of normal maelstrom arena will give you a lvl.

Go to a place with lots of mobs. Gather them all up and burn them down with ultimate and aoe

I thought I was running out of quests and was giving up because I have one last zone for the second alliance and another full faction zones but I'm only vet 8...there's even more quests after I'm finished with the 3 faction zones for the main quest? I don't know what cadwell silver or gold means but I guess I could look it up. I don't like grinding or dungeons so I was hoping I could get there by just quests, your post has made me interested in finishing the grind if I'm reading your post correctly.

I take it slowly and do every quest in every zone, which gets me a ton of skill points and gold and mats. While it is slow, by the time I emerge from the normal and Cadwell zones, I have every skill I would ever need ready to use at max rank.

But one time, I didn't log on for 2 days because I wasn't at my house to play, and one of the people on my friends' list had a fresh level 13 and a level 4 toon. I came back in 2 days, and he had a v4 and a lvl 45 toon.

I really do not understand speed leveling in this game. What's the joy in skipping right past everything ZOS actually did really well?

^ I concur and much prefer to just enjoy the game as it comes. Can't see the rush to over level stuff and limit your usable content but appreciate it's each to their own and people are on the 8th Alt etc.

Cyrodiil dailies for me. The quest are so quick I can get my daily Enlightenment in about 15-20mins (6 quests).

Heh, I thought the same the first time I levelled a toon from lvl1 to VR16... all the way through Cadwell's gold & Silver, exploring every nook & cranny. The seconds time it started to feel like a chore & by the time I reached lvl15 & I decided to just level in PVP. I just have no interest in doing the exact same PVE content over & over. Even going over the same maps to get all the skyshards 8 times for all 8 of my toons felt grindy.

Yeah, but isn't Endgame (PVP included) just doing the same stuff over and over?
