Essence Thief Questions

Does anyone with experience with this set know the following?

1) Does it only proc on true light attacks, or also medium/heavy attacks?
2) Is the 4300 health return affected by battlespirit in PVP and reduced by 50%?
3) If worn on a WW build, will it still proc while in form?

What are your opinions of this set? I have a stam sorc WW that pretty much sits the bench to some of my other characters. I have been farming WGT lately though and was contemplating a 5 pc essence thief, 2 pc kena, 3 pc Agility, Maelstrom Weapons, (or possibly 5 piece Marksman or Warriors Fury). The thought would be after transformation doing some serious damage with WW light attacks.

1 - Don't remember but I am fairly sure it could proc on heavy attacks as well as light

    2 - Yes

    3 - Yes

I wasn't a fan of the set to be perfectly honest. I tried it out but having to move to collect the essence buff became more hassle then it was worth at times. It could have be a great set if the essence would float towards you like the Harvester Orbs do but it's just a barely noticeable blue glow on the ground which can be easily lost in the confusing of PvP with the vast array of ground based attacks going off.

I have tried this on PTS a few times, I think before Imperial City and before Orsinium. The proc rate seemed really low. And running after the essences was a DPS loss. It just messes with your rotation too much. It might be a "fun" set for casual runs. Like when our guild healer puts on Maw of the Infernal set just for laughs during pledges. Essence Thief did not strike me as a serious endgame PvE set.

It should have given you the buff passively, like Scathing Mage. Or maybe given the buff directly to an ally, like Spell Power Cure. But between it's seemingly low proc rate (felt much lower than tooltip) and having lousy habit of appearing on far side of boss, I did not like it.
