Need some help with my nightblade

hello everyone,
I'm new player (just 1 week so far, having lots of fun).

I'm playing a Nord Nightblade in the Ebonheart Pact.
so far I'm almost level 18 and just finished the entire stonefalls area.

My problem is I am for some reason not content with my build I constantly resetting my skills and attributes.

In TES games I usually play the sneaky warrior with medium armor, 2 blades and bow. sneaking around and having good time.
Also mixing spells with summons\stuns and fear affects.

Hence why I thought I would feel right at home with the Nightblade.
The Nord race is more for RP purpose nothing fancy (I know skills wise that Dark Elf is made to be nightblade with his awesome bonuses).

So far I've tried many different builds from the classic duel-wielder through full caster mode (light armor\staff both pure dps and pure healer), I tried DPS with heavy armor and two handed weapon (which was hilarious as I was pretty immortal and did awesome damage while going around - though in pvp was pretty lackluster).
Also tried full tank build but I didn't felt comfortable with it that much.

At some point I spent all my money (lol) and thus I reroll'd one last time into thief build (mostly sneaking, pickpocket etc..) and made like 5000 gold robbing blind Davon's Watch which was pretty hilarious.

Overall the long play as I see it for me in this mmo as at some point the solo questing with story will run it's course I'll mostly will want to play in group content and in pvp (damn cyrodiil is amazing pvp area!).

But from what I've noticed I encountered some problems which re-manifested with each build in some form.

1. I feel pretty squishy, if there are more then 3 enemies and I don't kill one or two of them quick enough I'll die horribly.
2. seems that unlike in skyrim and other tes games when I sneak and hit someone with bow or spell the entire room can see me and I'm under attack, I can't sneak around and pick up one by one the enemies.
3. overall I want to play the roguish assassin\thief like and heavy \ light armor turn me down.
4. I have major problem with energy management, even with full stamina build in medium armor placing almost all stats into stamina and stamina mundus stone I seems to run out of energy pretty quick. (do note I still miss the skill which makes my weapons regen stamina on hit).
5. even though I had some success with non "rogue" oriented builds I keep thinking that at some point I will want to play the "Dark Brotherhood" and "Thieves Guild" lines and thus remembering from previous TES games that many of those are filled with "clever" sneaking tasks I feel it will be out of place for me not playing as "rogue", in general I feel really comfortable lore\rp wise as "nightblade" rogue\caster like as he can fit in any guild.

Another note on crafting\money making skills. I started dabbling with different crafting skills and they are pretty fun but I'm still lacking a proper guild with auction house of sort so I need to use the general chat which feels like spamming all the time. Last night tried to remove all crafting skills and instead I went to full theif mode, made LOADS of gold easily stealing items and from reading online seems that higher level zones drops more profitable loot to steal - but that's just cheesy.
any tips on nice in game career\crafting\activity to generate some gold here and there?

Now let's conclude this topic,
I'm new to the game and I'm still not well versed in all of the mechanics and in betweens, as my character still pretty low level and new I don't mind to start over with new character. I think there are major differences between ESO and previous TES installments and my the nightblade is not my usual class so maybe I should trying something different.

Right now I'm studying for MCSE so I don't have much time and even when I am actually in teh game I got books and video guides all around me at the same time, my current playstyle is solo play I usually roam around doing some quests and maybe partaking in crafting.
There is a better class then Nightblade which I can solo around with smoothly for fun and can help me overcome the problems I've encountered? better to stick with my current character?
if I should keep my current characther how would you recommend I should set my Nightblade build as?

thanks for the pointers and I got that explorer's pack as well so except imperial I got all races on all sides (currently due to friend playing the game I'm sticking with EP side).
