Best PVE foursome

J011Y_R063R
I am wanting to make a character with four of my friends. I also like to optimize. So here is the thing, I want us to create characters that we only play when the others are on. A group of four. One Healer one Tank and 2 DPS. What do you all think a good mix is? I was thinking obvious so one templar healer one DK tank and 2 of whatever DPS but I would like to hear the forums thoughts on this. Which classes are better suited for which role? Remember a lot of the players I am going to be rolling with already have main characters but do not usually run in a team. So in this capacity I want to make sure that everyone has a good time and fun with their characters while also optimizing their rolls. So that being said, what do you all think?

Here is the thing about MMOs, they are ever changing. My suggestion would probably be templar healer, DK tank, mag sorc and a NB. Just so you have 1 of each class so you can benefit from the different abilities of each class. But of course you can do multiple roles for each class but this is what i would consider long term safe.

Personally I like diversity in a group because each class has pros and cons so if I had to choose I would go with Mag Temp Healer, Stam DK tank, Mag Sorc DPS and Stam NB DPS.

However the best way to ensure you are having fun is for everyone to be happy with what role and class they are playing so I wouldn't force people to play something for convenience, otherwise you may have someone resenting being forced into a role.

    i like to have
a dk tank to buff the stam nightblade and a templar healer/dps to buff the other magic dps which i prefer to be a nightblade or dragonknight

having sorcs in 4 mans is the worst

Sorc's strength relies on the gimmick that is Overload, which sacrifices a large chunk of DPS participation when holding onto large sums of Ultimate in between major boss fights. Not to mention their lack of bar flex which prevents them from putting in situational skills for more DPS. Only reason Sorcs are utilized at all in end game PvE (competitively mind you) is for the 3% spell crit in raids, which provides an insane amount of DPS when looking at overall group damage in 12 mans, that makes up for their deficit and then some. In 4 mans however, this isn't able to be utilized to the same extent, and thus why they are dead weight.

terrible aoe, terrible single target. theyre nice in raids because they provide exploiter (spell crit)
    but for 4mans no thanks.

DK stamina tank, two magicka Templars and a magicka Nightblade. A third magicka Templar or a very competent magicka DK would work as well. This could change with DB.

It's hard to say. There are so many combinations.

2 Magicka Dragonknight DPS, with a DK tank, and Templar healer probably provides the best consistent DPS output while maintaining survivability

But optimized numbers aren't everything. You're most effective when you play what you're comfortable with.
