Enough is Enough. Fix your rng system!

Well congratulation, Zenimax. I finally snapped. After days after days of getting those wrothgar sets from those damn dailies, I snapped. You need to fix this asinine Rng system. I'm tired of getting none sets, I'm tired of getting v 15, I'm tired of getting the wrong set, or armor, and I'M TIRED OF GETTING THE WRONG Trait! And you're telling me that to "Fix" This issue, you're going to add weapon sets into wrothgar dailes? No,no,no,no,no,no. You don't seem to understand here. Adding more rng into an already crappy one, is NOT going to make us stop complaining. It is not going to satisfy anyone here. All it will do is *** people off more and more, and more until they don't even want to do it anymore, because the time they spend doing Dungeons for monster sets, or getting a mealstorm weapon, isn't worth it in the long terms of thing. Or, if Players like myself who are determined enough to battle the rng gods, have to go hours of hours of frustration. How is that fun? How is the fun for anyone? And I'm talking about this in a pve standpoint.

I'm not asking a lot here. I just want the set without all the frustration. I'm tired of it, I'm tired of it all. And you have the power to fix all of this. You can remove all the crap gear like the v 15, non sets, and blue jewelry. This won't fix the problem, but it will Elevate the set we want. Or, we can add a re-trait system as well as having the option to upgrade your jewelry. You can even profit from this in the crowd store so it's a win-win for everyone! Or you can do the most demanded, the Token system.

Zos, I'm taking a stand now. I don't want to be frustrated by this crappy rng system anymore. A lot of us don't. All I'm asking you, is to fix it. No band-aid fixes. Real fixes. It's all I'm asking for.

And for anyone who want to defend the rng system with strawman arguments, I encourage you to farm for a perfect 5 piece set from worthgar.

The RNG makes me not want to play at times. Ran vet Imperial City Prison four times... not a single set drop. Finally complete vet Maelstrom Arena? Got a VR16 Robe of Succession from the final boss. The kicker? I got a VR16 Robe of Succession from the chest in the round before it. Felt so defeated.

I did wrothgar dailies religiously trying g to get Briar rings in v16. I have 4 pariah in v16. Seriously. I am honestly having trouble just logging in. I'm tired of chasing carrots that are nothing more than smoke. If everything wasn't BoP it would alleviate so much. And scathing mage, I reaaaly would like the set for my alt, but I'll be damned if I'm going to add another rng grind.

Maybe they will make the Briarheart set bind on equip once enough players realize they are wasting their time even trying to get the set pieces and stop trying.

With as much rage as there has been about the Wrothgar BOP fiasco I'm surprised they still have not done this.

We were just talking about this in my guild.

What we need: is a currency system that's not overboard like they have with the pvp currencies, in which you gain currency from doing dungeons (all dungeons) in order to get dungeon gear and it shouldn't be in the thousands to buy these things it should be a reasonable cost in order to get geared up.

Many of us play alts so it should be shared across the account making it easier for people to gear up alts once their main is in a good place as well.

All of the major MMOs are doing this because RNG has historically been unreliable as a source of advancement, even the major titles that held onto it for longer than most finally eliminated it like World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2.

It's time to evolve.

Just by changing all BoP items to BoE, would solve alot of problems. It would certainly be the easiest quick solution.

I really wanted to get the Briarheart set but it's just stupid trying to acquire the pieces with the right traits. I gave up on it a long time ago, I don't even bother with the dailies any more.

You're not missing much with the Briarheart set. There are better options around.

You should play DB Xenoverse...you would think that ESO's RNG is amazing.

In DB X, you can do the same quest 50 times and not get a single item reward and each quest has their own clothing set to unlock so you have to play over and over and over just to get pants x2, no top, etc.

I don't do the dailies just because I see it as a complete waste of time to try to get what you want. You're better off farming gold and shopping the merchants to find the piece you want.

I like the idea of taking some kind of currency that you can then spend at a specialized vendor for the end game loot rather similar to tel var stones.

It's weird actually. I've had relatively good luck with the RNG involving the Wrothgar dailies. I was looking for the Trinimac shoulders motif, and the very next day I received them. Then I was really badly seeking the Trinimac staves, and voila. The very next container I opened had them. Then I wanted Trinimac valor rings, and two days in a row I got the rings. I've never had that good of a luck in this game. Ever. I can tell you about how I had to farm Veteran White-Gold Tower over 200 times for a single Molag Kena head pieces (and it dropped well-fitted), so I suppose that week was just my week to shine.

But yes, all and all, this game has pretty horrible RNG. Not even Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls has RNG this bad.

Are you asking that ZOS drastically reduce the pool of loot so that the RNG is based on a smaller set, thus increasing the opportunity for specific drops?

What I mean is this, "ZOS please remove green armor, and weapons with X traits and Y enchantments from XYZ Encounters in the RNG loot table"

When you just say fix RNG, it can mean a lot, and I've not seen anyone specifically ask for the table to be changed, I only see, hey ZOS, why does it take so long to get X item.
See the difference, ask a question they can answer rather than a 1 in 658 chance based on the loot table with values applied of X to items 100-250 and values of Y applied to items 500- 658

Why do I need to be Specific? Surely it common sense here. Either get rid of the non sets and vr 15 crap, or do a completely new system. They shouldn't be too hellbent on forcing rng down our throat.

I stopped doing all the repeatable content in hopes of getting that piece of armor, motif page, weapon I was looking for. I finally figured out it was a waste of my time and gold in repairs on my armor and weapons. Not to mention I just got tired of doing the same content over and over again and getting the same worthless crap I did not need or want. But, if you think ZOS will fix the problem your are wasting your time.

Then some goon would pick a fight with him and he'd would kick everyone's a** and destroy a rec center. Then he'd wander off to another town for the next week.

After about 10 weeks of the show you start thinking, "Maybe it's you, Bill."

Maybe you shouldn't be running the same content repeatedly in hopes of getting an item that never drops. Maybe you aren't meant to have every single thing you want in the game.

What kind of argument is that? So you're saying just stop? Why? Why should I not get that set that I Want? Because rng said so? How is that even fair? This is an strawman argument at it's best.

The trait rng is horrendous in this game.

Killed vet Kena 174 times before a useful helmet dropped. (and that's after I started keeping score)

ESO has effectively the worst drop rates I've seen in any mmo, simply because so many low droprate items are ruined and made useless by the trait system.

I say make the Wrothgar sets BoE but reduce the drop rate by about 50x.

Here's what I'd like to see from WGT/ICP:

• Reduce the boss/dungeon RNG drop rate to what it was when the dungeons launched at IC release.
• Increase the number of trophies required to open a vault to require >= 10 runs to enter the vault.
• Replace the chest in the vault with a vendor that lets you pick the exact piece you need.

This would still require a lot of effort to get the sets you want, but there would be a clear goal in mind. While RNGesus may bless someone and drop everything someone needs in quick succession, each player would know that in [##] runs they'll be able to complete their gear set.

While some people do in fact play the game until they finish their build/gear, I think most of us grind to get the best gear in order to actually use it.
