Dear Mods, We Need an "Off-Topic" Section so we can Post Music & Things Non-ESO Related..

There was a really nice What Are You Listening to Now thread that was not able to continue because it was a little too off topic and not ESO related. I can understand that, but.. is there any way we can get an area for posting music and assorted things if possible? Please?

You could think of a music thread as a PvP motivator... "By the GODS... I hated that song you posted to the forums... you must DIE now" or "By the GODS.. that was an amazing song you posted to the forums.. here.. let me heal you so you don't die friend!"

This has been requested multiple times before but it's pretty much denied. I happen to be one of those requesters. Zenimax wants people to come to these forums and post constructively, no matter how much the community wants to just hang out and get to know each other...

That's unfortunate.. I see the forums as an extension of the game.. and I would think they would want to help foster a strong connected community. A connected community stays together.. because they play together.. really get to know each other.. and build friendships that transcend the game itself...

I would have loved this. I actually wanted to start a thread in General Discussion about what music people listen to while they quest. I find Romanian House music very fantasy-like, for example.

I'm kind of sad such a thread would be locked if I created it. Because music is a huge grind and PvP motivator as well. It keeps us playing the game.

And it wouldn't be like Facebook. It easily would apply to the game because such music would inspire you to keep playing.

I remember.. I was in the beta.. and early launch. The forums are very different from when it first started.. but that doesn't mean it can't be better.. or that there is not room for a little place for people to just chill and get to know each other in an off topic section..

Then I remember that this one of the very few forums I ever met with an overwhelming amount of disrespectful and childish troll members as well as weak minded ones that tend to make a mountain out of a molehill, accepting all the trolling, flaming and baiting.

I've been on a lot of forums in my time.. and many with an off topic area that typically was not a wasteland of verbal attacks.. I just like the idea of being able to communicate thoughts and feelings through music.. and I want for people to have an off-topic area to be able to...

I didn't but it was what I meant) it would be nice, but imagine the scenario in which one post in the middle of a healthy discussion could (and sadly, would) be misinterpreted by someone and a heated answer would change the flow to some sort of criticism (and almost always against ZOS) and then a good Samaritan will tag ZOS staff and lots of cleanups will have to take place.

One week of a DMZ with 3x more public intervention needed and the benefit would be removed

It would allow people with common intrests to find each other in this game, and play together.

i would love to find someone that listens to manowar while delving, so we could sing together, or hell just enjoy the music while burning some goblins alive

I understand your concern, but how would an off-topic area be any different from normal moderation from the mods? An off-topic area would just be an area where people would be able to talk about topics not specifically related to ESO. All the normal forum rules would apply..

Just tie the topic into ESO somehow.
