Better graphics/shading in PTS?

Hello,

When Thieve's Guild entered PTS, the graphics looked better - the shadowing in particular (DX11, I would assume). When the DLC went live, I had assumed that these improvements were put on the backburner while the team addressed the latency issues.

After playing The Dark Brotherhood on PTS, the shadowing looks quite a bit better once again.

Is this something that will translate to the live game once Dark Brotherhood launches?

I play live and PTS both on max settings and also had the feeling that the Gold Coast looked amazing. I don't really know if they changed anything, used higher resolution textures, or simply used great design. In any case, graphics-wise the new zone is looking good!

Are you sure part of this isn't your usersettings.txt file?

Mine is set up to sacrifice some graphics and visuals for performance optimization. PTS also looked much better (and framerate was a bit lower), until I copied my usersettings.txt file from the live folder to PTS folder. Now it looks pretty much the same as live and my performance is around the same, or slightly better.

    I haven't touched the .ini, so I can't imagine that's it...

I've always had this experience. PTS was always better than live.
