Request to add buff/effect timers for console users

Hello fellow ESO'ers and ZOS

I have a request to ask of ZOS. I'm sure this has been asked for before and I am also sure that many console gamers agree that my request/point is valid. Us console gamers obviously do not have the ability to have add-ons like PC gamers do, so we can not add the missing UI elements that are for the most part standard to other MMOs.

One feature I would really like is Buff/Effect timers. It would make it much easier and less of a hastle to manage your buffs (for example Rally or Entropy) if we had a visual on screen indicator of what buffs/debuffs/effects etc were active and how long until they expire. It could be something as simple as a circle that serves as a countdown timer on the abilities or a picture of the buff/effect and a fading circle. Or even a transparent timer over the ability. Something.

I know some people will say "you don't need them, you just don't know how to manage your buffs" or something along those lines. But what is the harm of having that as a feature for people that want it? It could be able to be turned off.

Does any body else want that feature? Also (I know I am beating a dead horse) but why isn't text chat included in Dark Brotherhood?

And yes I know there are visual indicators on your character and enviornment but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be actual buff timers.

I mean Combat Text didn't cause any problems so I don't see why a small UI update woulf cause anymore.

I'm not a fan of UI heavy games where you spend most of the time watching icons instead of gameplay (i actually really hate this concept) but even i have to agree tha there should be clearly visible buff indicators. With the amount of effects happening on the screen esp when there is a lot of players it's really hard to keep track of your buffs/debuffs. Honestly i dunno how you ppl play this game on consoles.

I am glad you understand and agree. Trust me I don't want a crowded UI either, but just the simple elemements would be nice. And trust me, it is a struggle.

ZOS have confirmed previously that they are working on buff trackers for a future update.

If ff14 can do it so can ESO....go 4 it ZoS

As a DoT char and grp buffer this would improve my efficiency to another level..

I hate busy UI's, the PC videos give me a headache, but agreed on things like Entropy but I think just a more pronounced graphic would be fine.

Or like bound armour, the icon is highlighted when it's toggled. That's all it would need. Icon to stay lit while it's active. Done

Is this something I would use and abuse? Most definitely!

Is it something I would want in the game? Not really. I originally felt that it was something I would love but the more I think about it the more I don't want it. Keeping track of buffs, timings, and such should remain down to skill and understanding IMO. Don't we have many players claiming the game has become too easy? I know don't want to end up feeling the same eventually.

Plus I'm never a fan of having to keep track of UI indications instead of actual combat indications.

On PC players even have add-ons that keep track of enemy buffs, de-buffs and mundus stones active... in PvP!! IMO that is straight up cheating. God forbid that ever becomes an issue on console.
