Why do consoles not have night time in Cyrodiil?

I see vids of PC players fighting in the dark and it looks awesome... Have never seen night time on console unless in PvE. Is there a specific reasoning for this?

Maybe you're just not playing during the night cycle? I've definitely experienced night in Cyrodiil on Xbox

You are the only person on console who has said they have seen a night cycle. Nobody in any of my guilds has seen night in cyrodiil. [xbox] EU. I play daily at random time for long hours. After 1000s of hours in Cyrodiil missing the night cycle seems unlikely. I've played 24 hours + many times with no night time.

Come to think of it I have never seen the night since transfer on PS4.
What are the odds of that, I am in Cyrodiil everyday.

There's definitely night time on console. It doesn't get quite as dark as I've seen on pc, but there's lots of times you can look up at the sky and its dark with stars and moon out.

I have seen, I guess what could be considered "evening time" as well, but it really doesn't have the same effect as it does on console. Zergs of people casting abilities in the dark looks amazing on PC.

it does not seem as dark as does in other zones, but there is night time on ps4/NA. In fact I was with my guild the other night and someone even commented on not being able to see as well because it was night. Now that I think about it, I think I saved a screen shot of a huge AP tick (24,000) the other night and I think you can see the moon in it. Ill have to look for it when I get home from work

The whether and day cycle effects are made lesser in Cyrodiil to decrease lag. The night still happens but is not very different from evening or dawn. In PC, however with Shader, ESO launcher etc you can get similar visuals back.

There is most definitely night time in Cyrodiil on console. It is however not as frequent as day time but it does occur.

Ahh I didn't think about the fact PC has a wider ability to modify settings as far as lighting goes.. That could be it since everyone on consoles is running a baseline setting

I've been in Cyrodiil at night (in-game night) on numerous occasions. On multiple servers for console (PlayStation 4). I can't speak on Xbox One's Cyrodiil experience, as I don't own a XB1. But, I'm pretty sure it has night cycles as well. o.o

Nighttime in Cyrodiil

Also, I've witnessed a pretty sweet meteor shower in Cyrodiil during the night cycle. Always look up! And if you're in a large group at night, all of the spell casting reminds me of my rave days. Lag enhances this effect, haha.

There is definitely a Cyrodiil night cycle on the PS4 EU..
I tend to leave at night to go hunting materials in PVE as I do a lot of filming in Cyrodiil and its good to see things in detail, although the glowy stuff at night is cool.

Maybe ur just on at the wrong times or campaigns differ somehow.
When I do PvE dailies it's night time from day to day.

I play primarily on Xbox (NA), and I've seen the night cycle plenty when Questing in Cyrodiil.

It's possible, OP; that you're logging into Cyrodiil during the "early morning" of the day/night cycle, then logging out or otherwise leaving before the night rolls around.

But I know I've been in Cyrodiil plenty of times during the night half of the cycle.

It could well be that you have set the brightness too high in game - go to options, video, brightness, and make it so that the middle symbol is barely visible on your screen. Also, check your TV's contrast and brightness settings. If its set right, then it gets really dark in places of Tamriel.

Also, you should know that a full Tamriel Day/Night cycle is 6 full hours in real time. And, in addition to this, I have noticed that the Aldmeri Dominion has long days and short nights, but the covenant and pact areas both have longer nights. If you go up to wrothgar, it seems to have very long nights, and only very short days.

I actually noticed the above as I am currently in AD on Cadwells Silver, and it seems to be perpetual day, with very short nights, and its nearly always night-time in the far north of the Covenant, and up into Wrothgar.

On ps4 Europe is always day time for me. never played during the night too...
Maybe I should just adjust my TVs settings and make it darker
