Ultimate Damage - A Proposal

This is my proposal for all ultimates to deal a new type of damage, ultimate damage, that would be included in both the mighty and elemental expert CP stars.

Why is this a good idea?
1. More diversity for both stamina and magicka builds, especially for stamina which only has a few ultimates that scale off of mighty. More diversity GOOD.
2. Solves any and all debate about which ultimates/morphs should be physical/magic damage.
3. It helps hybrid builds, who currently suffer in the ultimate department due to having lower max stats on either end of the spectrum. Under this system, hybrid builds would be able to "double-dip" into ultimate damage from mighty and elemental expert, giving them very powerful ultimates.

Maybe someone thought of this before me but I couldn't find a thread on it so I thought I'd make one.

What do you guys think?

    I definitely agree with you and would love this change. As you said, it would make hybrid builds more viable and a better balance between magicka and stamina. I know SypherPK also has this idea so maybe he will read this thread. I don't see why doing this would be a problem, but I really think ZOS should add this

    It's not as simple as you think. There's more variables at play here than just what type of damage it deals. There's also resistance and penetration to consider.

    I think it's a great idea personally, making builds more versatile is a good thing.

    And tell me how resistance and penetration are variables of the ultimate? Resistance depends on who you're using it on? Doesn't matter if you're stamina or magicka? And I thought penetration came from traits and passives ect. Not the ability itself? I may be wrong, just that's what I thought.

    and I don't see a problem with soul tether followed by 'spin2win' magicka can use soul tether and sap essence now and don't tell me that isn't powerful.

    I just want a magicka take flight :( having them all do 'ultimate damage' and synergizing with both CP trees surely creates balance? How can it not?

    Is this a serious question? Because resistance and penetration are variables of damage period? There is no such thing as 'Ultimate damage' in the game currently. Magical and Physical damage factor in penetration and resistance to determine final damage. For 'ultimate damage' to be a thing, ultimate resistance and ultimate penetration would probably also have to be a thing.

    I'm not saying it's a necessarily a bad idea, just that it's not as simple as making 'ultimate damage' and calling it a day. Other game systems would have to be changed.

    Yes it was a serious question, I didn't ask for the fun of it..

    I know there is no such thing as ultimate damage currently, I guess I misunderstood the point he was making about resistance and penertration. And I see where you're coming from with them having to implement an 'ultimate resistance' ect. To mitigate the damage, although I think this would bring too many different stats too raise in game.

    Unless they use the same idea as they're doing already in terms of base ultimate damage, and have it scale off whichever stat was highest. So if spell resistance was higher than physical resistance that would be used as this 'ultimate resistance'

    You bring up a good point with the ultimate penetration and resistance. Ultimate penetration and resistances could of course be tacked on to already existing trees, but some problems might arise with hardy and elemental defender both mitigating ultimate damage as an example. I'm sure there is a more elegant solution...?
