Stamina Nightblade Help.

Tl;dr: Need advice on Stam NB.

As soon as my templar begins to work, my nightblade falls apart.

I've been stuck on this char for a bit now. Previously, she was a ton of fun. Now, she can attack twice before running out of stamina. As a Redguard. I've been back and forth between bow, two hander, and dual maces. I love the abilities from dual wielding, but I suffer without the range from the bow. The two-hander does more damage, and can heal me, but drains my stamina like no tomorrow and feels sluggish compared to dual wielding.

I've given up on the popular build videos, and need some normal-player perspectives. Lets start simply:

What gear should I use

What tips do you have for ability bar(s)

I've had Hundings since V1, and maybe I'm just super used to it being there. But it feels like it just isn't doing enough. She's currently V14, so I while I haven't totally maxed her out, she has incredibly low stamina and weapon damage. With dual maces, non-buffed, she has 1904 weapon damage and 47.7% crit. A thought I've had is switching her over to magicka, even though her race doesn't compliment it. I've had far more luck with my magicka templar, and with magicka nightblades soaring I can't say I'm not tempted. Considering I have a ton of magicka armor laying around, gear-wise I'd have no trouble. Race wise, maybe I shouldn't.

I understand that stam NB took a hit with TG. Now, I'm just trying to get her to a playable level. I'm not looking to get her to an unkillable status, but just trying to make it so she isn't frustrating to play on.

What level is the character? You say "can only attack twice before running out of stamina" but it sounds to me like something is seriously wrong in that case.

My khajiit stamina nightblade can spam wrecking blow like 15-20 times before running out of stamina, and that's without even mixing in heavy attacks to restore some (which is something you should consider if you arent doing - heavy attacks restoring stamina is a big deal).

I currently run 5 hundings / 3 nightmother's with a 2h/bow setup, all medium. Abilities vary based on pvp or pve or whatever it is I'm doing, but most often I run with:

    2h bar:
    wrecking blow / surprise attack
    Ambush
    executioner
    vigor
    rally

    bow bar:
    bombardment
    scorched earth
    power extraction
    shuffle
    unrelenting focus

Soul harvest / Warhorn for pvp, or flawless dawnbreaker / werewolf for pve, one of these days i'll risk trying werewolf in cyrodiil.

If you're having stamina issues, weave in more heavy attacks to restore stamina or switch to a more interspersed routine rather than spamming quick attacks like surprise attack (wrecking blow's cast time helps with stamina management a little). I only use my bow bar for long range in pvp or AoE in pve, and the 2h for single target. Otherwise the bow bar is basically a buff bar to store shuffle and unrelenting focus on.
    PS4 / NA
    M'asad - Khajiit Nightblade - Healer
Pakhet - Khajiit Dragonknight - Tank
Raksha - Khajiit Sorcerer - Stamina DPS
Bastet - Khajiit Templar - Healer
Leonin - Khajiit Warden - Tank

Night mother is better than hundings. A permanent debuff that stacks with reapers / sup attack is better than 300 damage tops. Needs 70% crit though. WW in Cyro is fine. Surprisingly not many people actually use a skill point in the passive that affects ww FG line.
    PC Master Race

    1001CP
    8 Flawless Toons, all Classes.
    Master Angler
    Dro-M'artha Destroyer (at last)
    Tamriel Hero
    Grand Overlord
    Every Skyshard

    What gear should I use?
5x Hunding's and 3-4x Nightmothers Gaze is the typical set-up up to endgame. Then people add in things likes 3x Agility jewellery (stamina & damage), 1x Kena (damage) 1x Bloodspawn (stamina recovery) and 1x Maelstrom, whilst enchanting 2-3x jewellery with damage.

HR is a nicely balanced set whilst NM provides well needed crit% if you're not cloaking often or have CHunter slotted on your DD bar.

Instead of Agility jewellery (because this is likely difficult and unnecessary to get at your level) have you tried recovery and robust 3x Marksman (2x stamina recovery) or Leki's (damage and stamina) as jewellery? You could also always sacrifice one NM to add in extra damage or recovery, respectively. Don't worry too much about getting jewellery a few levels below, the difference will be minimal.

I currently switch between two set-ups:
    1. Burst
    - 5x Alch (1x buff bar weapon either now or 2H & 4x body)
    - 4x Leki's (1x DD weapon either 2H or DW (if I'm DW then the other is NMG because it's gold and I'm poor) & 3x body)
    - 3x Agility (all jewellery all damage ench)

    2. General fighting
    - 5x HR (all body)
    - 4-5x Marksman (1-2x DD weapons
    - 3x Agility (all jewellery & 2x damage and 1x recovery ench)

In either set up I get good WDamage and I'm willing to sacrifice some in general fighting for more recovery.

The main thing is having a gold weapon on your DD bar as this adds ~200 from purple, but until v16 blue is fine as purple only adds ~20.
What tips do you have for ability bar(s)
    1. Relentless Focus is a must for me due to 8% damage and 10% recovery
    2. Rally is the cheapest option for 20% damage but this can be replaced with pots, albeit at the expense of serious survivability
    3. Crit Cloak
    4. Vigor (DD bar if using 2H as buff)
    5. Surprise Attack (DD bar)
    6. Ambush (DD bar)
    7. Mass Hysteria (DD bar)
    8. CHunter for free damage and extra crit%

Stam toons feel clunky and broken almost as if they weren't intended. I too have a red guard once you have high cp it will feel better but you will still feel not quite right. If you want that ooh this all fits together feeling go magick.

This character just hit V15 today, and I have a V16 to get the gear for her. I already have agility jewelry for her, but she is a level shy of wearing it.

I tend to exaggerate when angry, and after going through a bad delve run I wrote this up. She does burn through stamina quickly, but doing some testing weaving provided very positive results. Granted, it was just a public dungeon grind, but it was certainly better than without the weaving.

For the gear, I think I'll stay with my main of Hunding but will test Nightmother vs Marksman when I have some more mats to work with. It really depends on if I can get a good piece of Kena for her, as my spare helmet is heavy. Toying with parts of Leki does sound interesting, however. But like what was stated, for burst damage. Once she gets to V16, I'll probably make her a two hander maul. It simply does more for her than dual wielding, although if I run into the sewers I should probably get two maces for Steel Tornado.

I've gotten a few ideas, and doing a little weaving did greatly help. I used a few new skills that were recommended, (I keep forgetting Shuffle for some reason) and they are helping to keep her alive but still outputting damage. I'm used to my Magicka Templar, who does zero normal attacks unless she's procing Kena.

    Thank you for the input.
