Mages Guild on Console

Does anyone on PC get the lore books without add ons?

This to me is the worst part of being on console, even worse then no text chat.

I honestly would like to whole lore book system to be scrapped and for it to be more like the fighters guild.

I propose Adding a in game lore book finder or an end game quest to be able to magically sense all the lore books.

Cheers!

I didn't use the lorebooks addon for PC until recently. While it is immensely helpful, there are a lot of maps with lorebooks on them that you can easily find via Google so I didn't have a problem without it.

Pretty sure you could find screenshots on google of what the pc addons show, and just have that open on your phone as you search. I was googling skyshard locations before I downloaded the addon.

You can just google for maps, the lorebook locations are not forbidden knowledge to anyone who isn't on PC.

I'd prefer ZOS just endorse addons and allow us access to them on console. I remember reading about addons being available for Fallout 4 at some point.

If I had to choose though lorebook locations are low on my priorities list. I'd prefer resource numbers, enemy health percentages, greater UI and HUD customization and effects trackers be implemented first.

And I almost have proxy det on my 5th character and not one meteor.

it's not as easy as just seeing where they are online.

The way they are tracked are a mess.

Notice i'm not asking the skyshard mod most PC people also use.

Try using Dulfy. Pretty reliable source there. If the book seems a bit off the mark look around nearby for it or skip it. Plenty of Lorebooks across Tamriel to unlock Meteor with but you will need access to Vet zones.

I would love for them to be marked on your map, perhaps marking them after finding them once and have marked locations be account wide. Same for skyshard's, make it happen ZOS.

Having to use a browser to find them adds much more time to searching. I find it very condescending for PC players that are actively using the add ons to handily pick up the books and shards as they go to say that Google is just as convenient.

    Jus sayin'.

This is my go-to for finding all lorebooks on each character - http://teso.mmorpg-life.com/lorebooks-locations-map/.

I am on the Xbox One, and have 10/10 zone lorebooks for every zone completed so far, plus I have some of the additional series books that fall under "Shalidors Library". Its only that library that gives you the Mages Guild points.

I personally do not understand the rush to get Meteor unless you are a die-hard PvP'er, and even then it is going to be nerfed come DB. So, yeah, don't rush it, and have a little more patience with the game. Explore more thoroughly, go into peoples houses, and get all those little side quests done.

This game is great for me, its a completionists dream. And I am an obsessive completionist.

    I totally agree.
they should add I guess a crown purchase for a small fee saying 500 crowns for location of skyshards and lore books. I mean pc get it with add ons for free so sucks console would have to pay crowns, but I would still be more than happy to do that
I have been saying this for a long time now. Hope they do it

My current method consists of going through the zones questing as normal, picking up any books I find along the way. And then when it's finally time to move onto the next zone, I open up a map of all the books over at teso.mmorpg-life on my Tablet, and then I find the rest to complete the zone's collection. Then I move on.

Totally disagree, addons would make this so boring, running point to point joining the dots. The game is not about instant gratification, Sonic or Mario are for that, and the reward when you finally get that Meteor feels great. Enough people have it on console, it's easy enough to get if you want it / put the effort it. And if you don't want to wait a few months full immersion style you can look up the locations online.

Not having addons is the best thing about console for me. Equal playing field.

Bring the add ons to console. It's happening for Fallout 4, it can be done for other games I imagine. When we see how it works for fallout 4 on console, I'm sure other devs will consider it if the community demands it. I have the game for console and pc. I vastly prefer the experience on pc due to the add ons. But all of my friends are on console.

Having the locations of the lorebooks revealed to you in-game ruins all the fun! If you really NEED to know the location of a lorebook just look it up online. The internet only sometimes bites.

Ya know, if you either do the quests. Most of them or just explore the entire zone map, you'll find them.
Now on one of my chara who I aim to do all the quests....literally all of them in PvE zones as well as silver and gold. I'm level 9 and haven't finished gold but I still find those I skipped cause it seems mount speed and trying to speed through quests cause me to overlook some in obvious locations.

I use the internet to make sure I didn't skip anything including lorebooks. I hate leaving an area then having to go back because I missed a skyshard or forgot about a dungeon I skipped early but never got marked on my map or failed to find everything I could have found. I'm not really a completionist or an achievement hunter but I do try to find/do everything that will gain ordinary experience or skill points.

On xbox one, so I'd be all for it. Not everyone has a smart phone or a tablet to keep open while playing, or a pc conveniently located next to their xbox setup. I just decided eso's iteration of the mages guild, meaning searching for these stupid books, is too much of a hassle so I don't even bother looking for them at all.

I don't think its necessary. I'm on PS4 and I managed to acquire enough lorebooks on my own to reach Mages Guild lvl 9 with the bar filled at about 98% to reach lvl 10. I needed like 3 lorebooks more to reach lvl 10 so i used this site to look for the missing ones. Use your lore libary to identify the missing titles

It gets harder as you gather more. But I could do it, and others could too.

You do know consoles have a web browser though right? So it's not like you have absolutely NO means of looking it up. Furthermore you could always ask a friend that does to send you screenshots via your console network's messaging system.

Nah, the lore library is a pain to navigate on the fly, then I'd need to write things down, go check a website, come back to search for the exact spots in-game, no thanks. I'd rather just skip the whole thing as it is now.
