Dark Elf Templar?

Hellcleave
Would a Dark Elf Templar be ideal if I want to switch between Magika or Stamina?

I primarily would be solo PvE, but may dabble in some PvP from time to time.

    Awesome, thanks for responding.

Even though to me a Dark Elf didn't really fit the Holy Paladin type, I decided to make one and called him Dark Knight

Hmmm, have you heard about the ordinators?

Orcs, Nords, Argonians, and Imperials would can offer you good switch-hitter options as well. Imperial is probably the most versatile of the bunch.

Generally either Dunmer and Imperial work for a character that switches around.

If you're looking to switch between Magicka and stamina then yes, dark elf is the best choice.

How viable are magika Templar tanks or is stamina recommend?

A Dunmer is usually a great race for tanking. No matter which route you go- their passives (increase mag and stam) help compensate for ability/skill usage. With that said- I just made a Magicka Templar (Dunmer) just because I like the race and it helps with stam costs of blocking. Now that they've combined magic and elemental (fire) damage- it's a nice compromise. The only thing is that you don't get the reduced spell cost that a Breton has to offer. But, you do get a LARGE increase to the only fire ability that Templars have.

    Enjoy what you play!
Want to enjoy the game more? Try both PvP (crybabies) and PvE (carebears). You'll get a better perspective on everyone's opinion.

Dark elf Magicka Templar is one of the highest dps magicka builds in the game. Blazing spear, shooting star, skoria set, fire staff and elemental blockade.

Stamina, skoria dot build always helps with dps too. Not as great but that's up to you. The fire resistance, no matter how small is always delish.

Personally magicka Templar is the only Templar for me. If I wanted to max dps Dark Elf is always the way. I just prefer the look of Bretons more.. Bretons always make it easier to reach resist cap too incase of tanking gear in your inventory if dps queues are too long.
