Weapon Damage

For weapons with a damage modifier, pls correct me if I am wrong-

1. The blue bar represents the Magika and a the weapon is used for normal light/heavy attacks it drains that, correct?
2. The weapons damage stat, is that the the normal damage with or without the damage modifier applied?
3. When using a weapon with a charge, i.e.: A Staff, and I am using an weapon ability, it does not drain the charge on the staff since is use Magika directly, correct.

Thanks.

Basically all staves affect Spell Damage and everything else affects Weapon Damage.

The greater the S/W Damage, the harder the respective light & heavy attacks and abilities' tooltip damage which use Magicka (SD) and Stamina (WD) hit for.

Any modifier that says "damage" in the description affects your character sheet and therefore abilities' tooltip damage. Empower only affects the abilities' tooltip damage.

The higher your Stamina and Magicka, the harder your abilities hit for which use that as a resource, W&S Damage are not affected

Weapon enchants only proc when using light & heavy attacks.

If you want to maximise your damage:
    1. Stack all attributes in either Stamina or Magicka
    2. Use only damage dealing abilities that require what you've chosen at point 1 (buffs using the other are fine e.g. Relentless Focus on a Stamina NB)

Currently DW raises your spell power higher than staffs regardless of having DW passives unlocked or not. It is also easy to check provided you have a crafter of any level, just make two white swords with no set bonus or traits and a staff of whatever level you have the mat's for and equip both without any skills on your bar.

My two cents, weapons and spells should have a set damage for the skill level, character level, and get a very small bonus for resource pool. It seems that the damage gets a huge buff from the resource pool, maybe even more than the base ability damage. The current set up is what leads to min/max characters, sure my thoughts still give a bonus for stat stacking, but it will be smaller, and not as necessary.

    Maybe I am missing something.

I don't want to derail the OP by going in to this but just for clarity.. From my calcs: respective damage and max stat both increase a tooltip's damage by 1:10 ratio. I believe shields that scale off max stats are increased by a greater amount (not sure on figures) but are not affected by damage whatsoever. So the only class that this currently affects in a min/max (minimise weaknesses and maximise strengths) situation is Sorcs and I don't believe this contributes to any other classes who min/max (until Bone Shield gets changed at DB).

    1. No weapons do not drain the blue bar, only magika abilities do
    2. Yes
    3. The charge bar will only drain when using light/heavy attack. This charge bar is if you have an enchanted weapon i.e: fire, frost or shock

    1. Light attacks don't drain your magicka. Heavy attacks give you magicka.
    2. Weapon damage is a stat used in equations for stamina attacks and abilities. If you're using a staff, it doesn't affect your light/heavy attack damage.
    3. What?
