As in the removal of the mountains near the town of Anvil? As i was perusing the recent imgs of Anvil and Kvatch i came across on reddit, i noticed the two pictures comparing Anvils Southeast entrance of Oblivion and ESO. I was very impressed at how well Zenimax managed to recreate this area based on the older game. The only thing that immediately caught my attention and kinda bugged me, was the inconsistency of the terrain in Cyrodiil.
I've already heard all the excuses surrounding the fact that this game takes place 800-1000 years prior to the single player games and that's the reason, but it no longer holds any value. Just looking at the photos of these buildings still standing, is proof that a city would more likely disappear before an entire mountain.
Is there any other reason for this, from a developmental stand point?
