My Thoughts on Dmg Shields.

The Good:

Annulment now absorbs all dmg which is good for non-sorcs out there that want good survivability, I welcome this change.

Bone Shield a stamina scaling dmg shield that absorbs all dmg also good to help out stam builds survivability in PVE.

The Bad:

The Shield durations are abit too short in pvp this changes the dynamics of sorcs, now they will need to build for more sustain to keep the shields up or go glass cannon and die easily, But the real problem is magic builds in PVE now that all magic builds have a shield having to constanly recast on a NB/DK/Temp wouldn’t be beneficial to them.

Shield Stacking was never address in fact its now encouraged, Sorcs will be pigonholed into stacking THREE shields now (although not cost efficient) to compensate for the duration nerf.

Shields are still uncritiable and now that both magic and stam have uncritable shields people are going to have "free impenetrable" and crit builds will decline
I think shielda should take 60% of crit dmg and Ignore the rest.

Although I play and have a preference to stamina builds I don't want them to be the dominant builds in DB.

    The change in dynamic for sorcs is good, not bad. Allowing everyone a shield that is short duration offers other options to build to while the duration keeps everyone from being old sorc 2.0.

    Shields should remain uncritable only for the factt hat a shield build can run different traits. Its some variety.

    Shield stacking is now a much more active defense and it has been addressed. Sorcs wont be able to stack 3 shields and still deal damage. I thinkt hat is a great adjustment. They wills till have gaps they can aim for a hevy burst while stacking shield for defense, but it will be costly and require skill. Good change without removing the use of shields.

    I'm trying to understand why shield stacking is promoted more in a system where the durations are all very brief? Cast times tend to get in the way of shielding time as well, which means if you're triple stacking shields that more or less sums up all you are doing. Their goal is clearly to punish defensive behavior and force players toward a more aggressive approach. Defensive maneuvers of any kind are apparently intended as a quick stopgap response, and not something done for the long term unless your intent is to turtle up. Holding a shield and casting a shield are now both pretty punitive.

    Well I would think so I mean if a shield doesn't last that long why not have the most amount of shields on yourself at a time? To absorb the most amouny of dmg.

    When you say that Annulment blocks all damage is it magickal and physical at same time instead of magickal only? If so, morphing it into Harness Magicka cuts its initial purpose by half?

    Yes Annulment and morphs absorb both magic and physical dmg.

    Now sorcerers have 2 damage shields, so no bursty or crits for those cheering, meanwhile they get wrecked surviving in dungeons.

    So @Wrobel managed to cripple a class in PvE while making changes for PvP.
