Removal of vets - making the game easier?

I still don't have a single vet character myself, so I don't know how this exactly works. But the PTS patch notes say:
Reaching level 50 with a second character means you can immediately equip gear up to your account’s Champion Point value since Champion Points are shared across all characters on an account.

As Champion Points are gained much faster than Veteran Ranks, this will allow you to advance more rapidly and start getting the best gear in the game faster.

Can someone please explain the logic behind this?
To me, this sounds like the game will be even easier, with no effort on your part to level (current vet 1-16). Once maxed, the points will be shared, easy to cap, everyone will soon get the max. armour. Once that novelty value wears off, we are again back being miserable, because everyone will be able to wear everything, so no real challenge, no competition or bonus for the persistent one.

Maybe I'm missing the point because I still have no vet character. Thanks.

Not easier, just faster. There is no need for vr1-16 for Trials yet, it`s pretty cool.

    Thank you ZOS

As someone who has been a V16 since the second day it was live, I am finding that playing on the PTS seems to be easier as it feels like the character is progressing again even if I can't use the champion points I am earning.

I believe, that if You finish the game and reach the level of Veteran, then if You creating a new character, You do not need to re-play the game, for a new character leveling, for reaching a "Veteran".
This is stupid. Pass the same thing, over and over again.
I would like to be able to create a new character, immediately giving him a number of Faculties and the Level equal to the initial first level of Your character -"Veteran".

I do have to say, if you don't have a vet character, you have no clue why they are removing it. You'd soon change your opinion when you finally dinged from vr1 to vr2 (which takes about as long as 8 normal levels) then realise you have to do that 14 more times, before you can start to work on gearing for end game. It will make it seem like a long distant memory, since you killed the big bad at the end of your story.

That would also be the time you would think, I wanted to do another class too, no way I'm doing this hellish grind on more than one character.

It's all to speed up progress to end game, it takes far far to long currently.

It doesn't change difficulty of anything.

It makes it less repetitive and let's people try out new classes and builds. It's good for the longevity of the game.

I wasn't against the change at all, in fact I thought the removal of vets would be available with the Thieves guild. It's just that these patch notes seemed odd. Thanks everyone!

Honestly the difficulty is variable. It will be slightly easier before level 50 as they are folding an extra 15 skill points and attributes to those levels.

The biggest problem is that there are lots of people who like challenging game play, they tend to also be the same set of players that love to use add ons, love to min/max, have all crafted set item gear with good synergies, spend ages in game so they have vast experience and many CP, they also group with similar players, using voice coms. Then then say content is too easy for them, little realising if they optimised less, they would probably enjoy it more.

If you want to find the game more challenging, avoid using add ons, that would be my advise :). If your on console, that's not an issue though. The fact it exists and is doing well on console, is proof you don't need add ons, they are just a crutch.
