(Console) How do you communicate?!

Since my IRL friends have left ESO (for other games due to bugs, boring level 1-15 quests, not a duke nukem, getting old...) I feel very alone in this game....

I have tried to join guilds but nobody talks on the voice chats. In dungeons, I feel everyone goes with the flow with a rare "hello" or "goodbye" emote, unless we wipe out because half of the time, nobody is ready. I have used the PSN text chat (mostly to insult dragonknights that checked all roles but cant tank or heal). And yet I still feel its a solo game.

So out of curiosity, console players, what are your social interactions in this game?

Do you use voice chats and found other players use it too?
Do you exclusively use "Quick Chat" emotes and wish there were more "emotes" such as: "Please wait", "I am not ready"
How do you recruit into your guild? (Add PSN account as friend and use the "Invite to guild" button?)

I need help, because I really want to trade with other players, work as a group in dungeons, run dungeons without waiting for hours with the group finder, share knowledge and improve my gameplay/character. I am seriously considering restarting on PC just so I can have a chat box...

Everyone uses voice chat on xbox. No voip no group. Not wasting time on anyone who cannot talk or listen.

My (main) guild communicates mostly via the guild voice chat. I rarely hear people in group chat. Might be a symptom of the EU server due to the different languages spoken here (not everyone can or is willing to speak English)

On Pc we use zone chat, because we have text chat!

Dunno what your talking about I'm on headset like most others hear me just fine and respond and I'm extremely anti social outside of text chat. you must be in an antisocial guild or group.

My English is easy, because I'm Russian. But in a game, this is enough. When we played in the group used Skype to talk. Skype is convenient to have on your phone for this.

Hi @Zedrian Best bet is to join some guilds, there is a sub forum on here you van shout out on, or comment on someone foring s guilds thread. I joined a load for purely trading as liked to play everything else with a small group of IRL mates, but found the guilds so awesome started doing more content with them.

So rather than trying to chat to folks who might not want to, join a guild, msg the GM to intro yourself & see the deal, jump into guild chat and go from there

I'm on PC and I don't socialize with anyone, I randomly chat in zone but that's about it; I purposely don't join any guilds or have anyone on my friend list. My only real direct contact with other players is through random dungeon finder while playing tanks and healers, people have a tendency to invite me to their guilds or add me to their friend list after a run, I just decline it.

Guild voice chat and PS4 party voice chat for closer friends.
Also have social groups on PS4 that are text and pics.
Recruiting doesn't seem to be a problem in our guild as it is usually near full.

I've been scouring Xbox one Eu for different guilds for quite some time now. All the big ones are generally the least busiest when it comes to the guild voice channels and the ones that sound like they are right for me are mostly not on when I'm on as there is no Australasian server. For the ones that are, they are already comfortable with their crew of four running dungeons or are simply not interested in taking on some new talent no matter how much they say they are.

It's a big lonely world on ESO if you do not have close IRL friends that are interested in this game. When Destiny was first released it took one month to find a raiding guild that I raided with on three different characters every Tuesday for nearly a year. On ESO, it's eight months down the line and still nothing. I'm forever left in PUG groups, I do use my mic and message others when we have good runs. We add each other then we never hear from each other again. This is it until text chat comes around.

There's a whole litany of Voice Chat options, both in-game and through Xbox Live itself.

So communication is very, very simple.

I found my guild on the forum. To earn your first rank and gain access to the bank requires that you join the guild channels and voice chat with them. Otherwise it can be very difficult to emote a conversation with someone. That's how I found that it would be great to be able to text chat. I was having trouble grouping dungeons when I first started playing. Turns out it was a settings issue with my XB1. Unfortunately there's no emote for, "hold on a sec, let me check my console settings. "

There are groups to be aware of no different than PC.

-social groups (closed)
-social groups (open)
-party chat outside of the game
-non social
-I don't have a mic but listen
-I don't use a mic and don't want to hear you
-anti social


For me, I intentionally play with anyone but I don't play expecting others to talk. If we are doing challenging content, I expect the leader to talk and others not to unless it makes absolute logic.

In towns, social voice chat works great....I can hear those in proximity and mute those annoying folks
I can sort through am recent interactions via voice and invite, mail, trade, friend, etc.
