ZOS can you explain the attribute/skill point change?

The notes say:
"You’ll keep all your hard-earned attribute and skill points you received from gaining Veteran Ranks, and new players will instead earn them while leveling up to level 50.
You will receive 2 points every level that ends in a 5
You will receive 3 points every level that ends in a 10
You will continue to get 1 point for levels 2-49
"

What about my characters that are currently vet rank 1 and 2? Will they be denied the 15 attribute and skill points they would've earned up to vet 16 or will they automatically receive the points that they would've have earned by reaching level 50 with this new system?

@ZOS_GinaBruno
Kindly clarify when you can thanks.

    What it means is the points you earned with Vet Ranks are instead earned as you grow to Lv50. Therefore a VR1 will end up with all of the points a VR16 has when DB releases.

    Lv5, Lv15, Lv25, Lv35, and Lv45 = 5 points
    Lv10, Lv20, Lv30, Lv40, and Lv50 = 10 points
    Lv50 currently immediately transitions into VR1 so VR2-16 is 15 points.

    To put in more of a walk through. At level 2 you get 1 attribute point. Same as 3 and 4. At 5 you'll get 2. Then go back to getting 1 for levels 6-9. Then at level 10 you get 3. All it's doing is taking the points you'd normally get from levels VR 2-16 and putting them in your leveling from level 1-50.

    That's what I'm wondering, if the points that we would've received under the new system will automatically be added to vet characters that haven't reached vet 16 yet.

    If so this is good news as my vet 1 crafting character is in dire need of points for crafting passives...he's been parked in Rawl Kha, not earning any points.

    Yes they will be auto-added since they will now be coming from previous levels you already reached.

    It's suppose not but it's not working on PTS and Gina'spost comment suggests it won't work at all during PTS so we will just have to wait and see when DB goes live

    So everyone knows, yes they are rewarded retroactively. However, right now on the PTS you need to do a skill and attribute reset first to unlock them.
