Cp point give away

Ik they've said they're gonna give players cp up to their current level, does that include players who already have those cp points?? So will the whole player base get them? Does this mean we get a cap increase this patch??

Yeah, let's reward those who have the time to reach cap- the strongest players in the game, even more. Makes perfect sense.

If there's a cap then giving those players the same as everyone wouldn't matter would it? I think it would be fair if everyone were to get them

I read somewhere you gain CP equal to your VR level if you don't already have it. Someone who is VR12 will get boosted up to 120 CP if they don't have it yet. For everyone else who is already at their CP:VR equivalent gets an additional 40 CP, but that post was a while ago, it's not certain that is still going to happen.

They said all with less than 160 cp will be credited with all the necessary points until 160. For those having more than 160 they wil give 40cp if some vr16 exists in the account.

Khajiit thinks they said they were only going to give them up to whatever the cap would be for the highest piece of equipment you currently have equipped.

For example if this one has a V16 pair of pants and she did not have 160 points (or whatever the requirement turns out to be) then they would bump this one up to 160 points.

This one has more than 160 points but wonders how this will work with her employees. The boy orc has access to all of the points that khajiit worked hard for. Will the boy now be able to use higher level equipment than before because he has the points?

AFAIK he should be able to wear big boy pants - he will have over 160 CP so will be considered to max level.

Also look forward to 40 bonus CP for having a v16 :)

Yes, I rember as well that ZOS stated that.

But even if that still holds true, it cannot be the full story.

Compare someone with Vet 16 with 100 CP, a Vet 16 with 150 CP and a Vet 16 with 300 CP.

With these two statements one way forward could be:
The Vet 16 with 100 CP will be raised to 160 CP
The Vet 16 with 300 CP will be raised with 40 to 340 CP

and now the Vet 16 with 150 CP....
Will he only be raised to 160 CP ?
or.... will he be raised with 40 from 150 to 190 CP ?

No. He will be raised to 160. To further elaborate, using me as an example. Currently sitting at 523 CP and 6 v16 toons. I will gain nothing upon removal of vet ranks. The CP handout only applies to those with 1 or more v16 toons who are not yet at 160 CP. TBH its nothing much. If you are under 160 CP you will be gaining CP like candy even without the boost so don't let it worry those above 160 CP too much. They aren't gaining much anyway.

Yep! I think that's the best bit about the VR removal - you only need to get them to 50 and then they share the power of your main.

I've got a healer and tank sat in the mid forties that need a little boost... getting Skyshards and Lorebooks is just such a daunting task! (Well, I suppose that levelling undaunted may help alleviate that...)

The way you say it, do you expect that you do NOT get the 40 CP for accounts having MORE than 160 CP ?

That 40 CP has been mentioned by ZOS for accounts with more than 160 CP, so your 523 should be raised with 40 to 563.

The point I was trying to make is the discontinuity that additional 40 CP creates.

To give the most extreme comparison.
    Assume a Vet 16 with 159 CP to a Vet 16 with 161 CP
Would the 159 CP account only get 1 CP (raised to the 160 CP) and the 161 CP account get 40 CP (raised to 201 CP)
So the difference of 2 CP before DB increases to 41 CP after the DB DLC.

I'm not entirely certain of the facts of this - all I've seen from ZoS on the matter is that if you have a v16 you get a bonus of 40 CP (2.5 cp per VR), I have not seen it stated that this only applies if you're currently above the 160 mark.

So your 159 CP example may actually get 41 CP? I'm not sure - I don't see why they would give the character who has more CP already the bigger bonus of CP.

If you're up and about @ZOS_RichLambert could you clarify this please? :)

They will be incorporated into the 1-50 levelling process, something like getting bonus attribute points at 10/20/30/40/50 - you won't lose any! In fact, your lower level characters will have more.

Is there any reason to think that the breton girl won't get access to the account wide CP's after the update? I took this change to mean any future characters I level to 50 will automatically become the same as my top level characters, but if I'm wrong please tell me so I can be as strategic as that sneaky Khajiti.

I wonder how they will treat the levels. If you can equip CP gear 160 at level 1 (because you have 160+ CP), so the game effectively removed levels and all the job is level skills / attribute points. I have a friend who grind naked up to lv.20+ that's how easy the game is, a player that can equip a full set CP 160 will faceroll the game so easily its better to just give out maxed alts already. Unless I'm failing to see something.

    Cp kick in at 50.
So if your account has 160cp then once you reach 50 you will THEN be able to wear and use the cp160 gear, equivalent to current vr16.

So, its not lvl 1-49 but levek vr1-16 that you jump thru.

I'm sure the gear level will be 50, plus x amount of CP... Would be kind of stupid if a level 1 alt could wear end game gear but couldn't wear regular lvl 10 gear

    Rich Lambert (Creative Director):
A little context here before this gets too out of hand…

We’re still working on the system – nothing is finalized. (which is why we’re not really talking much about it yet)
The intention is that once you hit 50, champion points take over. Veteran Ranks are completely removed.
When Veteran Ranks are removed, we will convert any Veteran Ranks on your highest character into CP.
To get a rough idea of balance - think of 10CP = 1 VR. (so 160 CP will roughly = VR16)

    Additional Details:

We’re planning on giving 2.5 CP for every VR level you’ve earned on your highest level character. (40 for a VR16 character)
When the conversion happens, any player with CP less than their old veteran rank * 10 will instead be given enough CP such that their total is VR * 10. For example: A player is VR14 with 75 CP, they will be given 65 CP (140-75) instead of 40, so that they can still equip any gear they may have.
We will make sure the 16 attribute picks you got from VR1 to VR16 will carry over. (current plan is an achievement that goes up in 10 CP increments until 160)

Keep in mind that none of the stuff above is 100% locked in. We're still implementing the feature - things are subject to change. It's important that everyone understands they are not suddenly going to have to have 501 CP in order to equip the top level gear. We will introduce new gear, with higher CP requirements sometime in the future, but we won't be making huge jumps. (i.e. - we won't go from 160 to 400 suddenly)

Once we finalize the system and lock in more of the details, we will discuss things in more detail and answer questions.

If you got v16 you get 40cp. If after that boost you're still under 160cp, then you get boosted to 160cp.

So, with 150cp you will end up to 190cp and 120cp or less you will end up to 160cp. Asuming you have v16 char that is.

Yes, it's the point of the CP system, no more tedious VR 16 slt grinding. You get to 50 and you unlock your account CP. Still have to do some Things like find more skills points and actually get the gear you want, you when you hit 50 on alts, they are competitive right away, which is a great thing imo.
