My concerns with CP and gear scaling

Since the DB has recently been announced, I would like to take some time to discuss something that has been on my mind recently. Vet ranks are being removed and CP will become the new "level", and gear will be separated by the amount of CP you have (at least I think that's how it will work). My concern with this is that they also said in an episode of ESO Live that they would increase the CP cap incrementally with each patch. Now I know that each large patch is generally a couple months apart but I feel that it will become a giant pain to have gear that is up to par if the cap is continuously increasing. So if you have V16 Molag Kena it will become (I think) CP 501 Molag Kena. Well if they increase the cap and you reach the next cap, wouldn't that 501 CP MK become under leveled and you lose major stats? If anyone has any other opinions on this, feel free to says so.

I was curious about this as well. I have 7 maxed characters and finishing up the last one. They each have their own gear. I am pretty much burnt out on grinding matts and trying to hustle items for gold. If I have to keep upgrading each DLC I Will probably stop playing after the next one.

I spent so much time and effort acquiring everything I have and it being useless after each DLC is exhausting. That is why I quit destiny when this came out, well one of the main reasons.

If I do not want a new set being added to the game my gear should just level with my CP.

Thats makes no sense, l have over 550 , so what will be on my gear lol, VR 24 = 500 cp or some such? or is gear going to be caped at 160 cps? If its still capped at VR16 = 160 then why bother changing it...

I think using CP as a new level is going to be a disaster.
The whole point of CP was Passives for a more customized feel or variability but definately not for NPC levels or gear requirements.

Basically they took the seperation VR caused out and created a worse situation as I understand it so far.
It makes better sense to use NPC numeric levels such as 50-56+ for a determining factor of how drops will fall within the Vr tiers. Player characters would just stay at 50 for now.

    Tweak, adjust...

Using CP to continue to grow and allow different customizations and use the NPC numeric to establish difficulty.
As the game grows and they want to make it harder....use numerical.

The issue with CP if used this way...it removes the variability and becomes a strict put all points here and here or else you won't be able to do content.
